Sri Lanka is a blessed land of the gods, an unrestricted playground. The ancient Ceylan has sublime beaches, waterfalls in the fison, an equatorial forest, sumptuous landscapes, historic monuments, an ideal climate… However, the island has had to cross the storm since its independence, between clashes between its different ethnic groups and the terrible wave of the tsunami… Today, however, restored order provides unfailing security while mass tourism is not present (yet). Go quickly for a circuit in Sri Lanka.

After landing in Colombo, we move towards one of its most remarkable British remains, the railway station. We don't lose one minute and jump on a train to Kandy, vital center of the last Singhalese kingdom and located in the heart of the Highlands. A tourist site par excellence, a holy city, a religious capital, it is the one that we come to see from the four corners of the world, which the tourists are looking for, a camera already set up. Its temple contains a relic of the Buddha's tooth, a treasure whose value goes beyond the boundaries of the island.

Then we move towards the Cultural Triangle and Anuradhapura, another holy city, also protected by UNESCO. Built more than 25 centuries ago, it was the first city in the country for 1 ¾ 400 years and houses the most sacred dagobas on the island. These gigantic domes attract pilgrims from all over the world. All seven sites listed on the World Heritage Site do not end: Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Dambulla have spoken their stones, witnesses to the island's millennium history.

Returning to the center of the country, there will be no fail to cross the hills covered with tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya, hand-trimmed by thousands of Tamil fingers. A panorama that we don't get tired of. For a more wildlife immersion in Sri Lankan nature, we will not hesitate to dive into its national parks, that of Udawalawe in particular, to make a safari in order to observe elephants but also birds, buffalo, peacock or varans.

Finally, the sandy beaches of the south will be a savior to an extraordinary journey. Note that it would be a pity when traveling to Ceylon not to organize a few nights in the inhabitant. The Sri Lankan people, despite the turmoil in their history, show extraordinary hospitality.
