The central station where all means of transport serving KL converge, including suburban trains (KTM Komuter), regional trains (KTM Intercity) as well as the express train to the airport (KLIA Ekspres). Many buses pass through here, both long-distance and local buses. You will also find a taxi rank if you do not wish to continue by public transport. It is very easy to move around the station, just follow the pictograms that will lead you to your next means of transport.

NORTH BORNEO HERITAGE TRAIN

Created in 1896, this historic railway line was reopened in 2011 for tourism purposes. It runs from Kota Kinabalu to Papar, via Putatan, Kinarut and Kawang, a little over forty kilometers on board carriages pulled by a superb Vulcan steam locomotive. The round trip takes 4h30, with two stops for interesting sights: the Tian Shi temple in Kinarut and the Papar market. A conventional train makes the same journey at a lower cost.

WAKAF BAHRU RAILWAY STATION

The train station serving Kota Bharu is located 6 km away, on the other side of the Kelantan River. The Tourist Information Centre or the Malaysian Railways website will give you information on timetables. The Jungle Train that connects Kota Bharu to Jerantut and Taman Negara via Gua Musang can be the subject of a sightseeing excursion. The journey takes between 9 and 12 hours. A magnificent landscape stretches before your eyes for a large part of the trip. An interesting adventure.
