Situated right opposite the lighthouse and white houses of the Al Ayjah district, but on the other side of the turquoise bay, so right on the water's edge, this restaurant boasts the most beautiful panorama in Sur. It offers a choice of spaces, including an Omani-style dining room where you can enjoy a cool meal (at the table or Arab-style, seated on carpets) and beautiful terraces, which we prefer because why deprive yourself of the view? The mile-long menu offers a wide choice of drinks and tasty dishes at low prices: tajines, grills, pizzas, Indian dishes...

Overlooking the beach, a feature rare enough in Salalah to be doubly highlighted, a vast open-air terrace, graphic and contemporary, opens onto the immensity of the Arabian Sea and offers one of the most beautiful festive and gustatory settings in Dhofar. Visitors come at any time of day or night to relax, enjoy a cocktail, nibble on one of the fusion dishes on the menu - baked, grilled or wok-fired - or dine on Italian cuisine upstairs. With its lounge music, cosy ambience and picture-postcard views, the place is fairly new and often crowded. A real favorite!

Some people remember the time, twenty years ago, when there were few or no coffee shops in Muscat: D'Arcy's was already there, like an Anglo-Saxon coffee shop. A success that lasts, from breakfast to the evening, with a strong contingent of expatriate women in earl grey chat, but also a lot of Omanis - a pleasant mix. At any time of the day, in a decor of yellow and sky blue candy boxes or more pleasantly on the terrace, you can eat good salads, good club-sandwiches, fish & chips as in the country... and sweet treats on the go.

Huqqa is a huge, graphic and ultra-modern building that does not leave one indifferent. Located on the waterfront in front of the marina, it occupies a vast esplanade and brings a radically contemporary note to this district of Al Mouj. The place has 2 restaurants in one: a casual space with fast food and themed evenings (DJ or Arabic music); a more chic room with an elaborate menu featuring succulent matured meats. Trendy atmosphere, neat decoration, young and nice service. Chicha space very appreciated by the locals, terrace.

Samba is a family restaurant, open almost all day. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a la carte salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc., and in the evening, you can fill your belly at the buffet. As in all the big hotels of this level, a different culinary theme is proposed every day (sea buffet, meat and grilled meat, etc.), all copious and varied with the unconditional salad bar, pasta bar, chocolate fountain... Instead of the room, spacious and therefore a little impersonal, we prefer the shaded terrace near the pool.

This restaurant is located right at the foot of Zaki Hotel Apartment and is very popular with locals, a sure sign of quality. Come here to eat, but also for the atmosphere, the meetings, the kindness of the staff... The menu is international and very varied with perhaps a predilection for Indian cuisine, but you can also find grilled fish, hummus or burgers. Beware of the sometimes very spicy dishes for sensitive people. No fuss, but excellent value for money. A safe address in Sur!

This recently opened café is a haven of peace. Located in the elegant inner courtyard of the Galleria Opera, its shaded terrace opens onto the bright white of the House of Musical Arts. The interior is calm and soothing, and distills a muted atmosphere through a cameo of soft, natural tones. The menu is designed to offer a varied and balanced diet with breakfasts, a few sandwiches and mixed salads, and dishes served as tapas to share: truffle or pesto pasta, grilled lamb...

It's more than a simple Italian restaurant, it's now a beach club with a nice outdoor bar in light wood, a large shaded terrace and above all 2 beautiful pools decorated with sofas and cushions to lounge in the sun. The atmosphere is relaxed and trendy, but also family oriented. Themed evenings are offered, DJ, karaoke, board games... As far as gastronomy is concerned, you will find all the classics of Italian cuisine, but also seafood platters, lobster pasta... as well as a nice cocktail and wine list!

This is a unique opportunity to walk through the mausoleum of the super-luxury hotel and discover, from the terrace, the manicured gardens, this long stretch of water directly opposite, the nobility of the palm trees and the aristocracy of the lawn. The menu is "simpler" than the setting and offers pizzas, pasta, salads, grilled meat or fish and some Omani dishes. Lacking a Western atmosphere? Phew, the Oasis Club is here! To reach this place of festivities, friendly and very busy, we will have crossed the port area. Planted on a hillock, with a terrace overlooking a beach embedded between two cliffs, the place is much more than a restaurant and is a landmark for expats in the area. While the kids play, the parents play pool or bowling, eat and drink, surrounded by sports screens. There is also a swimming pool, tennis court, playground and a few villas for rent.

Take the Crowne on the quiet side, i.e. opposite the road, aim for the terrace under the stars and that's it for the outside. Indoors, you'll appreciate the warm decor of the room. It is the hotel's main restaurant, open to all for breakfast. The choice is given between a menu of salads, mezzés, pastas, pizzas, ready-made meals, etc. or thematic buffets for those who are very hungry or who like to taste everything. The local clientele is loyal, willingly elegant, and often interested in the fine wine list.

Located in the reserve's visitor centre, the only restaurant within several kilometres, the Sea-Giants welcomes turtle customers and passers-by with teeth. The modern room can accommodate about 60 people in an atmosphere tinged with excitement before the adventure and quite special in the evening, when all the openings to the outside are caulked so that the lights do not disturb the reptiles' natural reproductive cycle. International and local dishes, ready-made menu, buffet.

Perched on the roof of the Grand Hyatt Hotel Annex, in the gentle breeze of the Arabian Sea, The Grill House's panoramic terrace offers spectacular views of the Arabian Sea on one side and the city on the other. Enjoy a good grill, meat or seafood, salads, seafood... all accompanied by a small glass of wine. For dinner with a friendly freebooter or with the family, this is one of the nicest outdoor tables in this part of town with an honest price-quality ratio. This is the Almouj golf restaurant and in the sometimes concrete inferno of Muscat, a stopover at the beard of a green is a saving grace. The mere sight of green grass makes your meal. For early morning golfers, a wide choice of breakfasts enlivens the menu. For the rest, the cuisine is international with a Mediterranean tendency with copious salads, pastas, pizzas, grills and sandwiches to compose yourself. Some exotic dishes too. Courtyard is the hotel's main restaurant, offering all-you-can-eat buffets every evening. An extension of the lobby, it looks like an indoor garden with a skylight and (fake) cherry blossom trees. On Friday evenings, the place is transformed for Sabla Night: a fabulous oriental evening with live cooking stations hosted by Omani musicians, amid the halo of myriads of lanterns and the notes of local musicians. Everything contributes to the magic of the moment: the scent of spices mingling with the waft of incense, the diversity of dishes.

Shakespeare Co is an international chain that surfs on an "old Europe" decor whose every chandelier, armchair, curtain, etc. is handmade in the company's workshops. The decor is planted and induces an immediately cosy atmosphere, boosted by a staff in the small care. In Oman, the store is located in the new Al Mouj district, where it has a nice piece of terrace. The menu offers a wide choice of dishes, sandwiches, salads, pancakes, gourmet desserts and a fine selection of fruit and/or vegetable-based drinks.

It's the only restaurant of its kind in Muscat. We are in a jungle, from the graphics to the Indiana Jones-style decor, especially at the entrance of the restaurant, a little less in the dining room, which is a shame. A bit disappointed also that the theme is not really pushed into the plates since the dishes remain classics: salads, burgers, pizzas, grilled meat and fish. To sum up, the address is nice for families with youngsters who will love the path through the jungle and the tropical showers to water the trees.

With its terrace overlooking the sea and sheltered from the wind, Kaia is a delightful new eatery that stands out for its calm, chic atmosphere and sober, modern decor. The interior features a magnificent tree in the middle of the room, adding a touch of immediate zenitude. The young, dynamic staff are on hand from early morning until late at night, and the varied menu offers a wide choice of breakfasts, burgers, sushi, salads, freshly squeezed fruit juices and a selection of cakes for tea-time.

This recently built luxury beach club harmoniously combines style, music, a fine clientele and cuisine based on fresh produce... At weekends, Muscat locals flock here to enjoy the ambiance, the pleasant shaded terrace, the panoramic open bar overlooking the sea, and the large beach right in front. Cosmopolitan but above all marine, the menu offers seafood, calamari, fish of the day, as well as pizzas, burgers, salads... to be accompanied by a glass of wine, as Dunes has an alcohol license. Not cheap, but excellent!

Framework of choice for this Arabic style coffee directly by sea: tents, cushions on the floor, local tables and wooden chairs, completely renovated in 2012 and now extended from an air-conditioned room with large windows… to keep the feeling of the waves even in full cagnard! A really attractive and pleasant corner, especially in the fish and seafood barbecue, but where you can find everything: snacks, fruit juices, varieties of tea, etc. To start the day, eat a bowl of farm milk, and to close it, taste the authentic Welcome Arabic coffee prepared in a true charcle, as in the past (des will be proposed in the future). During the day, the family atmosphere as the children love playing in the sand while the parents sirotent a juice to two per hour! And the game nights, live the grills before the giant screen!
