Getting around by boat and ferry Oman

Set up in the calm of the lagoon, the place is especially worth the detour for its traditional wooden dhows. Some sailors offer walks there, either off the coast of Sur or as far as Ras al-Hadd. A more common option is to go around the lagoon on a motorboat to see the boats, but also the hills with watchtowers. Negotiate the rate and length of the walk on site with the kids or fishermen who are available. Beware, the activity is subject to the vagaries of the tide!

Connections Shinas - Khasab or Shinas - Dibba, or vice versa in the other direction, by ferry, once or twice a week depending on destination - ask about the days, as this can change according to the season.
