" Good journey and especially be careful about you. " " A little sentence slipped on the occasion of "goodbye", like a callback to say that this time your destination is not trivial… For many, Iran is a piece of land stuck between Europe and Asia, lost in this vast set called Middle East. Iran? Nuclear, Ahmadinejad, repression is often what the knowledge of the country is all about. Yet this territory cannot be synthesized in a few words.

First of all, it is a unique piece of land which houses several sites, rightly classified as UNESCO's Heritage of Humanity. The old old town of Yazd and its Badgir (wind towers) set in the heart of the desert, the elamite ziggourat of Choqa Zanbil, the citadel of Bam, unfortunately destroyed by an earthquake in 2003, or the village of Abyaneh built on the mountain side, as evidence of genius and remarkable adaptation of man to his environment.

Iran is also a large area like three times France which allows visitors to make several trips in a stay. From the central Asian steppes to the north, to Russia on the edge of the Caspian, you can stop in southern Arabia before joining Pakistan in the heart of the hectic Zahedan bazaar. In each region, imposing traces of the past, Persépolis, the place of Imam in Ispahan; not forgetting the encounter with ethnicities still attached to traditions. Here, everyone cohabits peacefully. An example of "living together" surprising in an area where the divide between peoples is often a source of conflict.

A wonderful witness to history, Iran is nonetheless a prime player. This state currently vibrates with rare intensity. Ahmadinejad's victory at the 2005 and 2009 presidencies, if she delayed the transition, must not undermine the desire for change in a growing population. Endormi, the Iranian people? Certainly not. As soon as the opportunity arises, politics is invited to talk. And then there is this young majority of the insatiable curiosity. By setting foot in Iran, you will be seen as a messenger of that other world, which the Iranians imagine, envy, idealize. Needless to say, the reception will be frank and warm. What to encourage the most hesitant!
