A unique celebration of the Dominican Republic's complex cultural heritage. Celebrated throughout the country, the festival is over three hundred years old. The festivities combine religious processions and Congolese music, inherited from a long African tradition. The most impressive event takes place in Villa Mella, near Santo Domingo, a town where ancestral African culture is preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Singing, theater, music, drums, dances and other folklore will fill you with wonder.
