Also known as Sallah or Hawan Daushe, Durbar celebrates the end of Ramadan - Eid-el-Fitr - in northern Nigeria, with the largest performances in the cities of Kano, Zaria, Katsina and Sokoto. It is the opportunity for the tribes of the region to come and swear allegiance to the Emir, generally ridden on horseback and dressed in his richest attire. The second Durbar, which occurs two months after the first, is considered larger. One of the most fantastic cultural experiences to be seen in Nigeria.
