Created by Telma, the country's leading telephone operator, MVola is the first mobile payment solution in Madagascar. It is a service accessible to everyone, even customers without a bank account. Subscription is simple, free and immediate and can be made at more than 15,000 MVola retail outlets throughout the country upon presentation of the passport. All you need is a Telma chip (available free of charge upon arrival in sub-customs). The MVola account offers many services; deposit, withdrawal and transfer of money including weekends. Foreign currency can also be received from abroad via Western Union. MVola also offers the possibility of paying for purchases from a network of 2,000 partners (hotels, restaurants, petrol stations, supermarkets, car rental agencies, tourist sites managed by Madagascar National Park, Tsaradia/Air Madagascar company, etc.) and also from merchants who already accept payments via Mobile Money. This is a convenient way to avoid carrying too much cash and to travel with peace of mind, as all transactions are secured by a confidential code.
