TRIFON ZAREZAN

Exit Valentine's Day, in Bulgaria, on February 14, what matters instead is Trifon Zarezan. According to the Gregorian calendar, it is the feast of Wine and Winegrowers. It is also the day of the barkeepers. Traditionally, it was accompanied by many rituals in order to obtain a good harvest. The origin of this festival is linked to the traditions of the vineyard and dates back to the time of the Thracians. On this day, the vines are pruned and the winemakers and their king of the year go from house to house, toasting and wishing for fertility and abundance.
