The dam lake is a fresh water reserve that feeds the surrounding cultivated plains. It is a quiet place for a soothing stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and why not for a refreshing dip. Be careful on festival days, the young Mamounais gather there in number and the place is then much more animated. For the long term travelers, the surroundings of the dam offer an ideal space to install the bivouac of one evening and continue their road. Mamou being a crossroads, all the directions are then possible.

This cave, which is wide open at the entrance, was a place of refuge for the local population in times of trouble. According to the legend, if you are inside, the bullets of your enemies cannot reach you. It is also a place of devotion where people come to make sacrifices in the hope of obtaining a positive outcome to their requests. Archaeological excavations carried out in the 1950s revealed the very ancient presence of populations there. A new arrangement now allows to sit facing the cavity to better observe it.

This beach is an astonishing place, made up of a narrow strip of golden sand wedged between the sea and the shallows, with the capital as a backdrop. Not very wide but very extensive, it allows for a pleasant stroll, especially at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset. For a few years now, straw huts and other bar-restaurants have been installed along this sandy strip, somewhat distorting the place, which nevertheless remains unique in its kind. You will be able to take advantage of it to settle down and have a drink with friends.
