Site of the French association «Maison des Anges», the relay of the NGO «Maison Shalom» in Ruyigi, led by Marguerite Barankitse, «Maggy», whose purpose is to assist Burundian orphans.

The Conflict Warning and Prevention Centre (Sevda), established in 2002, regularly reports good, without concession, reports on the socio-political situation in Burundi.

The International Documentary Network on the African Great Lakes Region (Geneva, Bujumbura, Kigali, Bukavu) broadcasts «grey literature» on Burundi, Rwanda and the DRC (unpublished documents, restricted dissemination, leaflets…). Since the activities of this network have declined, due to lack of funding, the latest documents put online for a few years, but the site remains useful for informational purposes.

The Observatory of Government Action, established in 1999, comprises about civil Society associations. It produces interesting reports and studies on the intervention of State services in public life. The site is regularly updated.

Bimonthly en kirundi, 100 BIF. «The Guide» or «the Scout» is the oldest private periodical in Burundi (since 1940). This is the newspaper of the Catholic Church, but few foreigners can understand what it talks about…

The Projet Hospital project, launched by the Maison Shalom on the land of the family of Maggy Barankitse, 2 km north of Ruyigi (direction Cankuzo), follows the mother-child centre that was built by the Belgian and Burundian army in 2007. It has been supported by several international bodies (the Jean-François Peterbroeck Foundation, UNHCR) and embassies (Germany, France, Luxembourg) and opened in early 2008 in the presence of the highest authorities in Burundi. It is, in the middle of a stars region in general, a humanitarian UFO.
