Drug Prevention France

This special care centre for drug addicts (C.S.S.T.), administered by the association Blannaves Logos, makes the day of the day without appointment. As part of its mission (care and support for drug users), Logos provides medical and psychological counselling for people in demand. Doctor and nurse are present to establish a diagnosis with the user, possibly respond to alternative needs and provide emergency care. An educator and other participants at the reception act more on a social slope and insertion.

The Ephemeral Centre is a centre of information and consultation for young consumers (adolescents or young adults of cannabis and other psycho-active substances (tobacco, synthetic drugs, alcohol and medicines). It is, above all, a place of reception and support for families, also of dialogue and information on illegal and licit drugs and on the risks associated with their consumption, but also a place for assessing and caring for adolescents and young adults of psychoactive substances.

A collective of associations, Asud was born in Paris almost 20 years ago at the worst time of the AIDS epidemic among drug users. Today, the association is playing on words to seriously ask if it can be considered as a group of drug patients, an active queue of militant patients for better care or a meeting of citizens, users and/or former drug users, who for 2 decades hammer the same message: consumer repression is unproductive in public health. We need more moyesn to greet people who are addicted, to accompany them towards abstinence or substitution without judging them, and to propose alternatives to life. Asud Marseille, which has just changed its premises, provides anonymous and free reception hotlines, participates in the global prevention and risk reduction programme, including the distribution of sterile single-use syringes, the recovery of used equipment. The individual health and social aspect is increasing with collective activities, writing workshops, speaking groups, moments of conviviality, meals exchanged.

A free number, always accessible, to speak, be listened to and advised, in all cases.

Founded in 1994, this association has become a reception and accompaniment centre for the reduction of risks among drug users (Caarud). The team of health and social professionals supports people who have a addiction problem, a health or law issue, linked to their use. At the acccueil, there is a constant listening time with facilitators and educators but also volunteers who participate in the action. This approach to self-support, peer education, makes the specificity of this rather atypical eda. Its missions aim to prevent the user from the risk of infection by AIDS or hepatitis viruses by providing support and information on prevention. A reception area open 4 days a week, where the informed public can learn about the risks it takes, find a programme for the exchange of sterile syringes and benefit from social support, a service of showers, washing machines and small user friendliness (tea, coffee, soft drinks).

The purpose of Drug info service is to listen, inform and guide drug addicts or anyone facing a problem of dependency - as well as their surroundings - but also those who simply want to know more about soft or hard drugs. Drugs Info Service is also aware of problems related to drugs or alcohol.

The CSAPA (Center for care, support and prevention in addictology) is a center of the association Addiction France which was created in 1872 by Claude Bernard and Louis Pasteur. The objective is to improve health by fighting against addictions. Its field of action is wide, ranging from prevention, awareness, to the support of people in difficulty and their entourage through training and counseling in the workplace. Alcohol, tobacco, drugs, medication, screens, games... all addictions are taken into account.

APLEAT-ACEP offers help and support, and listens to, informs and advises young drug users, their parents and those around them. The service is anonymous and free of charge (a confidential telephone hotline is available). In addition to access to documentary resources, APLEAT-ACEP offers prevention initiatives in schools and the workplace. These take the form of workshops, debates and conferences, open to all.
