Strasbourg Waters Vives is a sports association affiliated with the French Canoe Federation, a member of the French Canoe School. From April to September, the La Roche-Posay Tourist Office offers nature sports outings to discover the Anglin or Gartempe valleys. A minibus will take you to a place called "Rives" for a 10 km descent accompanied by a qualified guide. Would you like to sail on your own? Opt for the free canoe trips between Vicq-sur-Gartempe and La Roche-Posay (10 km). Another option is an accompanied introduction to stand-up paddling on the Creuse River, with a 5 km course. This "big canoe" is ideal for those who don't want to get too wet. You'll be guided along the water by an enthusiastic expert in this natural environment. For 56 years, Bouchemaine's nautical club has been helping us enjoy the Loire in all seasons. There are several ways to discover the river: paddle the Loire, canoe down the river or discover the river at dusk. The Club Nautique de Bouchemaine offers canoe rental packages, an original way to visit and discover the Anjou region. For a day's rental, 4 circuits are available, two of 25 km and two of 30 km.

The 6 km run gives you time to appreciate the magical environment along the Grand Morin as far as Guérard. Located on the banks of the River Sioule, Camping des Nières has a canoe base offering two different trips: a half-day trip over 10 km from Chouvigny to Ebreuil, or a full-day trip over 20 km from Pont de Menat to Ebreuil. Ghislain and Malika propose in the Terrados campsite a hundred of canoes-kayaks to go down the Tarn, along four courses from 8 to 22 km from Sainte-Enimie to Le Rozier. Perfect to discover the Détroits, the Cirque des Beaumes, the Pas du Soucy, the sablière... As well as all the remarkable villages that inhabit the banks of the Tarn: Sainte-Enimie, Saint-Chély-du-Tarn, La Malène, Les Vignes, Le Rozier... On the river, among the hundreds of boats that navigate every day, you can recognize the CTM canoes by their white or blue color.

It is one of the oldest (since 1976!) and best known boat hire companies in the gorge. From May to October, they offer routes and formulas with canoe hire and the accessories (vests, canister, paddles) necessary for a safe descent. Descents of 3, 10 or 23 km are possible. So much for the "classic" offer. More unusual formulas are proposed alongside the canoe, with bungee jumping, or the dromabox which doubles the course on the Tarn with a camel ride. The trick is to get back to the starting point, but the river is calm and navigable in both directions. La Palue is a small river that you can canoe down with the Castets club (affiliated to the French Canoeing Federation). Summer is the ideal period for leisurely descents. Starting from the base (from 10am to 4.30pm), 8 kilometres of discovery and relaxation in the heart of the Landes forest are offered to you. Good news, swimming is allowed. The canoe can accommodate up to 3 people (2 adults and 1 child). The best thing is still to book!

Created in 2001, the Chauvigny Valdivienne Canoe Kayak Club offers initiation, improvement, competitions and leisure outings. Come and discover the Vienne river according to different formulas proposed (from 2 hours to one day) from Saint-Martin-la-Rivière, Cubord or the Civaux-Chauvigny circuit. Stand-up paddles can also be hired.

The SPCOC, canyoning school known for having trained champions, offers kayak rentals on the water. The proposed course is a relatively easy one, which allows you to do the trip in complete autonomy. The equipment is provided, helmet and vest included. The proposed kayaks are open and have a self-bailing system. The meeting point can be at the canoe-kayak base, or upstream of the river depending on the water level.
