THÉÂTRE 13

Theater
5/5
2 reviews

Located at the feet of high buildings, typical of the new 13 th century built in the last few decades, this district theatre subsidized by the City hall of Paris has been offering performances in 1981 to discover emerging talents, whether they are directors, actors or authors. That said, repertory works are not forgotten. A few names read on the posters in this 250-seat hall theatre: Xavier Durringer, Yasmina Reza, Fabrice Luchini, Gildas Bourdet, Jean-Pierre Miquel, Béatrice Agenin…

It is noted that a Theatre 13 Award helps young directors during a festival each year. The winner sees his work programmed during the following season. Finally, it should be mentioned that the Theatre 13 program three rounds of concerts. There is a lot for everyone.

This room can accommodate 650 to 6 500 people with, for example, dinner for 800 guests, a cocktail for 2 500 people, large seminars… All this thanks to the modularity of space. The glass hall with its bar and panels is 1 200 m ²; The 2 800 m ² showroom has armchairs, a scene that develops or the, concealable stands, a first floor became mezzanine - possibilities are very varied. There is also a second reception room on the first floor, 100 m ², with a breathtaking view of the surrounding area in a spirit of lounge. It can accommodate 120 people seated and can be rented as well. Prices are very variable but, according to the estimate, can be very accessible.

Le Nombril du Monde is a little more than a simple theater-café: a living stage where talents can be born and blossom since more than 30 years. This is how the Nombril du Monde saw the birth of a certain Florence Foresti on stage... This café-theatre has a resident troupe of professional comedians, about fifteen, who play all the roles, from bar service to the stage. Two rooms (air-conditioned) to laugh all year long. The Nombril du Monde organizes comedy workshops. A short visit to the BistrO d'A Côté to chat with the comedians.

Since 1974, By has built a solid reputation in Lille. It is here that some famous artists (Dominique Sarrazin, Ronny Couteure…) have made their weapons. The experience lasted until 1979, when the teacher changed formula at the initiative of Jean-Marie Denis (Alphonse), joined three years later by Francine Maerten (Zulma). The duo Alphonse and Zulma live on stage two hours during, in a hilarious show, where sketches and songs alternate. Scenes inspired by the everyday life and experience of the people of the North, all sprinkled with Ch'ti accent. Before the show you can dine with the most emblematic recipes of regional cuisine: maroilles pie, Flemish stew, home or cute pork potjevleesch, for example beer. A beautiful and good evening in perspective.

THEATRE DU PEUPLE

Since 1895… this date does not refer to a famous advertising for chocolate but to the creation, on the initiative of writer Maurice Pottecher, of the theatre of Bussang. The effect is similar: equally well founded!

Every summer except in times of war, shows were presented and were a feast for everyone's taste. The stage at the bottom of a barn, enlarged as it surrounds boxes and kitchen, has preserved the pioneer spirit of benches arranged in a simple way to "feed the people of the people" according to the wishes of its founder. Pierre Bein, the current director of the theatre, has in his hands a jewel and nuggets, young talent, amateur actors often trained by professionals for whom the experience of staging in Bussang remains etched. Here the pieces written by Molière, Hugo, Gogol, Renard, Shakespeare and many others have been played. The spectators are on schedule. It even seems that some have been coming for generations. Last winter, there was a mountain story, the Henry and Vincendon case in winter 1956 and conducted the tour of Christmas markets with a 12 minutes room for "average Western"!

LE GRILLEN

Pop rock and variety concert hall

1 review

Located near the campus and the Grillenbreit district, the Grillen is the contemporary music hall managed by the city of Colmar since 1998. Its capacity does not exceed 350 seats, the concerts remain intimate, far from the zeniths and the gigantic and impersonal halls. All musical styles are represented: pop, rock, punk, soul, metal, hardcore, garage, electro, experimental, rap, blues... Teachers from the conservatory also come to perform there and the hall is open to all associations wishing to organise alternative and festive evenings (notably Live!, After Dark, Hiéro Colmar, Hopla! Zone 51...) The Grillen also puts two rehearsal studios at the disposal of local bands who regularly have the opportunity to showcase their talent during opening acts. Be careful, don't arrive too late on concert evenings as the seats are free (and standing). To preserve your ears, Le Grillen provides earplugs and, in the interest of ecology, the bar's cups are consigned. Le Grillen also hosts very friendly improvisation match evenings and other events such as the jazz off festival. All you have to do is enjoy the concerts, massed in the crowd or in the adjoining bar!

In the middle of the city, Gaumont decorated by Christian Lacroix proposes all the films of the moment on wide screen. For the fans of lyric art or to discover: ten operas are broadcast in digital quality and live at the famous Metropolitan of New York. But also private tours, the live concerts and the subtitled sessions for deaf or hard of hearing persons who regularly attend it every Thursday and Saturday. A large selection of films in Original and French Version, 2D or in 3D, remains a significant asset. A good plan: flash sales of Tuesday evening (special promotion on their WebSite) activate it on the Net and it will give you promotion access, invitations to the screenings, seats during your birthday, as well as quizzes... Discover the subscriptions at will offering an unlimited access of more than one hundred cinemas: Pass solo for the cinema or Pass Duo to enjoy for a couple of lovers. And finally, it became quickly significant to avoid rows at the cash desk, the E-ticket: you can purchase it on their Web site (or download the application on your smartphone), you can print it - or directly present your E-ticket in your smartphone... It is faster, without any additional charge and the cancelling can be done until fifteen minutes before your session. Gaumont is unquestionably an interesting place... Located in the Saint-Paul district (Pont-Rousseau), this cinema is the only cinema in Rezé and it is associative. Dating back to 1936, it has the old-fashioned charm of yesteryear and has a unique but vast hall with more than 400 seats with wide, soft red armchairs and large red curtains on either side of the screen. Each session begins with a short film followed by an intermission during which an usher comes by to sell sweets. A relaxed family atmosphere is guaranteed! Programming: new releases, Ciné Minos screenings for children (the first Sunday of the month), Ciné Thèmes evenings for grown-ups and a cycle of Les Grands Classiques (once a month). Every first Sunday of the month, a cinema poster sale is organised. Also noteworthy, in May, the short film festival: Montre-moi ton court! which presents short films made by all audiences.

The very carefully lit garden shows the owner's interest in the large American spaces. Photographs of the Colorado Plateau from distant journeys, cactus, boots and old stools make it dream that it's in the comfortable armchairs or bar that you will find the warrior's rest, well deserved late in the day. Anyway, everything is thought of in this sense, music: jazz, blues and rock of the s is at a perfect sound level so that friends'conversations are pleasant and home cocktails are served in large glasses that will delight the amateurs. Gypsy Jazz and Blues fan don't miss this intimate bar in the Saint Michel district. And this is not to mention the concerts that take place 3 times a week in the summer: Monday and Friday, Jam session Jazz from 22 pm, Wednesday, Open Blues Berry, acoustic blues beef. In winter, concert almost every evening with the Tuesday programme: a jam-session on Wednesday: acoustic blues and beef evening (opportunity to join musicians) on Thursday: Gypsy jazz concert on Friday: jazz or blues and finally Saturday: world music (flamenco, Brazilian and African music).

It is a bit like the Montpellier equivalent of the Splendid and it does not demerit from its Parisian "ancestor". Kawa is a theatre dedicated to humour and it works well! In the 180-seat auditorium, halfway between the boulevard theatre and the café-theatre, the comedians cleverly deploy well-meaning phrases around themes that are always up to date. So much so that some of Kawa's creations have been invited to more "serious" venues... The theatre also organizes improvisation evenings, excellent for making irresistible encounters and building up your abs. Finally, the Toaster Club will allow the hungry to satisfy their hunger.

As is so aptly stated, the Theatre du Portal Sud is located… just opposite the South Gate of the Cathedral. At the bottom of the courtyard, on the left, at the top of the wooden stairs, behind a heavy curtain: This is where this tiny theatre of character is perched. Yesterday's and today's pieces are played in front of a public who cries a little, laughs a lot, shudder passionately, and loves madness. This cinema is splendid, because the room was built in the chapel of the old convent. An atypical site for a quality cultural output and if the festival animation is so rich in rural areas, it is certainly thanks to the association Cinema 32 that does not spare its efforts to be at top! In Masseube, she still works in this place where we love weekly animation sessions, especially for children under 13 years of age (and their parents!) but also the eclectic programming that goes from popular cinema to authors'movies. If national exits are present with the release of recent films, some older masterpieces return regularly to the screen. Don't miss anything by following the program on the site's answering machine, because in summer there are many special evenings.

The company, which set up 30 years ago in the huge theater of the 8th arrondissement in Bachut, was supposed to open workshops in the walls of the former Guimet Museum in the 6th. This 212-seat room allows you to rediscover the convivial atmosphere of the cinemas, and incidentally, to pass rainy days. Reasonable prices and organization of special evenings with debate.
