When you arrive in the city of your holidays, you have a real thirst for discovery but you often have to see a maximum of places in a minimum of time... Conclusion: you often end up on your kneecaps at the end of the day. Yet thanks to a few tricks, it is possible to discover a city quickly and well. Here are the good shots to note!

Download useful applications

Rather than busting your head reading a plan, take advantage of new technologies. There's nothing like digital to get your bearings in no time. Take advantage of free and convenient apps in the city!

However, if you are abroad, think of taking a sim card without subscription with a rechargeable 3G package, this will avoid you to make an expensive off-package with your French phone .

Google maps

We highly recommend the google maps application (which works worldwide) because it directs you with a system of arrows, so you don't have to go in the opposite direction... It is very practical for those who do not have a sense of direction and it helps not to think too much when you are tired.

Public transport applications

Rather than driving a taxi to ruin yourself because you can't walk, download the local public transport apps. Today, almost every city in the world has them. Simply enter your destination and the app will automatically tell you which bus/tram/train to take. A joy!

City tour apps

Many cities now offer touring apps that have themed itineraries with the main points of interest to discover

As a bonus, you usually have explanatory texts, or audio narratives, to illustrate the visit. This way you know where to go and become quickly familiar with the destination without getting tired

To find out which apps to download, you can usually go to the website of the town's tourist office where the apps that allow you to discover the town are indicated.

Use the greeters

Greeters are a network of local volunteers who are happy to welcome tourists on their arrival and show them their town properly. Thanks to them, you will discover the main points of interest of the city in record time, with the advantage of knowing the best deals of the locals. This way you avoid all the tourist traps and you have every chance that the greeter will become your new friend!

Favour small vehicles

If you are tired of walking but want to continue discovering a city by taking your time, the car is obviously to be avoided because the holiday traffic jams and the difficulties to park do not make anyone dream ..

So you might as well opt for vehicles that are easy to handle and have no parking problems!

The velib-type city bike, put into service by a municipality for a small fee, with bollards placed throughout the city, is now increasingly widespread. It is a very practical and inexpensive means of transport that allows you to rent or park a bike at any time of the day or even night.

If you are in a city where there is none, a 24h rental will rarely cost you more than 10 euros.

The other practical vehicle we recommend is the Segway or the Gyropod Ninebot. These high-tech, ultra-intuitive and lightweight vehicles are easy to handle and allow you to glide around quickly without even pedalling

It's magical and accessible to all!
