FISH RIVER CANYON
Today, we head south to the Karas region and the mountain range of the same name.
This province is Namibia's largest (160,000 km2) and least populated, with a population density
than 1 inhabitant per km2. En route, you can discover one of the "quiver tree forests",
a tree-like plant of the aloe family (Aloe Dichotoma). This plant is one of Namibia's symbolic
symbolic plants of Namibia, engraved on the 50-cent coins of our local currency. The
san (Bushmen) hunters used their fibrous branches, which they hollowed out to make a quiver,
to carry their arrows and other implements. You'll then continue your long
(the longest of your stay), arriving at the lodge in the afternoon to settle in.

FISH RIVER CANYON
Today, your day will be devoted to the 2nd largest canyon in the world after the Colorado Canyon in the USA
USA. In the morning, visit and walk from the main viewpoint to "Hikers Point" (6 km round trip). Then
in the afternoon, you can drive south to Ai-Ais, south of the canyon, to enjoy the natural hot springs
hot springs. You could even have your lunch there. The main viewpoint offers
a bird's-eye view of the Hum Plateau (the boundary between the 2 canyons, upper and lower). Fish River Canyon
is home to some of the oldest rocks in Namibia, and in the world, with granite and gneiss dating back over
billion years old. Its dimensions are impressive: 550 m deep, 56 kms north-south, but 180 kms through the meandering
kms meandering and 27 kms at its widest. 2 or 3 other viewpoints are also accessible. Return to
lodge in the afternoon.

AUS
Steps: Aus
Today, you're in no hurry and can still enjoy the view to the full. After a leisurely breakfast
drive northwest to the small village of Aus. Nestling in granite
granite formations, this small village expanded at the start of the First World War (1915), when the
german colonial army (the Schutztruppe) surrendered to the South Africans. If you wish, you can
lunch at Aus. After settling into your accommodation, in the late afternoon
afternoon, we suggest you go and see the famous wild horses of the Namib, at the Garub site. Here they are
iconic animals in terms of their origins and adaptations to the arid conditions of this Namibian region.
Their ancestors are none other than the shod horses of the German colonial army, which were abandoned
abandoned in 1915.

KOLMANSKOP * LÜDERITZ * DIAZ POINT
Steps: Lüderitz
Today, you'll drive to Lüderitz, a coastal town in south-western Namibia. In the morning, you can
discover the famous ghost town of Kolmanskop with a guide (it's best to arrive 15 minutes early). The
the first diamond was discovered in this region in 1908, and it was this that led to the construction of this small
city. By the 1920s, it had been abandoned as the rush for this precious stone shifted southwards to Oranjemund, Oranjemund, Oranjemund and Oranjemund
south, Oranjemund, where larger specimens were discovered, leaving Kolmanskop completely empty by the early
50s. On this very interesting tour, you'll learn about the way of life of these fortune-seekers
in one of the most hostile places on earth. Afterwards, we recommend that you have lunch
at the Essenzeit Restaurant. In the afternoon, discover Diaz Point, where, in 1485, Portuguese navigator
portuguese navigator Bartolomeu Dias was the first European to land on the southwest coast of southern Africa. Return to
Aus to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
