Detail of the stay : 6 jours Kenya Wildlife Encounters - 6 days

Day 1: 6 jours Kenya Wildlife Encounters

On arrival, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi city (35-minute drive depending on traffic). If you arrive early enough, you'll have the chance to explore the hotel grounds, take a dip in the pool or take part in one of the extra activities on offer.

Accommodation: Panafric Hotel or similar

Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara (265km-Aprx : 5h)

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel, airport or residence in the Nairobi area, and depart by Jeep 4 x 4 for the Masai Mara.

We'll stop in Narok for breakfast and arrive at the Mara by mid-morning

We've arrived at perhaps the world's best-known wildlife park, home to an incredible diversity and concentration of wild animals. All the "Big Five" are present, with a particular focus on felines such as lion, leopard and cheetah.

We'll spend the day roaming the deep savannah in search of big game, warthog, hyena, zebra and many other hunters and grazers.

A picnic lunch brings the day to a close, giving you time to relax if you wish.

Accommodation : Masai Mara Sopa Lodge or similar

Day 3: Full day at the Masai Mara

We'll be up early to enjoy the alarm clock and birdsong in the large reserve. This is a day of unlimited safaris, so get ready to check animals off your "must see" list.

The Masai Mara has the highest density of wildlife in this part of Africa, and you're right in the middle of the action.

If you're here during the Great Migration (July-October), you'll witness the spectacle of thousands of gazelle, zebra and wildebeest crossing the Mara River in search of food.

We'll visit the river and enjoy a picnic lunch, while observing hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife as they move past us.

If you wish, you can make an optional visit to the Masai village. You'll learn more about their customs, their way of life as shepherds and you may even be able to buy some of their beaded handicrafts.

Another option: an early-morning hot-air balloon safari over the Masai Mara! Watch the park come to life and the animals march past in their timeless migration - an unforgettable sight. Ask your driver/guide to make the necessary arrangements.

Accommodation: Masai Mara Sopa Lodge or similar

Day 4: Masai Mara - Amboseli (520 km - 9 heures)

We'll rise before the birds for an early start to Amboseli Park.

We'll travel through fields and farmland, stopping along the way to appreciate Kenya's natural landscape.

We'll also take a lunch break to stretch and relax.

Arriving at Amboseli Park in the afternoon, we'll have time for a safari and to familiarize ourselves with the reserve.

At the southern boundary of the park stands the imposing form of Kilimanjaro, a constant presence overseeing the rich variety of flora and fauna in this small park.

Towards evening, the mountain's snow-capped peak can be revealed as the high-altitude cloud cover dissipates, leaving us with a perfect view of one of Africa's most inspiring landmarks.

Accommodation: Amboseli Sopa Lodge or similar

Day 5: Full day in Amboseli National Park

The day will be filled with safaris and relaxation - just tell your driver/guide how much you want for each activity.

But we'll be up early for a pre-breakfast safari through the park, as the elephant families head for their favorite watering holes.

We'll travel by jeep to our favorite watering hole - our lodge or tented camp - for a hearty safari breakfast. Then we end the morning with another relaxed safari.

The foliage is sparse in Amboseli, making it easy to spot the animals.

We have a leisurely lunch and plan our afternoon. Your driver/guide is an expert and can tell you all about the different areas of the park to explore, such as the swamps, lakes or forests.

Towards evening, look forward to another magnificent African sunset and perhaps the clear, snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro. Get your camera ready!

Accommodation : Amboseli Sopa Lodge or similar

Day 6: Amboseli - Nairobi

This is our last morning on safari, but we intend to do as much as possible. We'll start with a safari before breakfast to see who else we can tick off our list.

Breakfast will follow, surrounded by all the beauty of nature, then another mid-morning safari through the park. You'll have time to visit all the places you might have missed.

Then it's on to Nairobi, with a stop for lunch en route.

We should arrive around 4:30 pm (16:30).

We'll take you to your hotel, residence or airport.

You've seen much of Kenya's two most popular parks on our 5-day safari, with a variety of wildlife you'll be talking about for years to come. When you're ready for your next adventure, give us a call. The entire Kiriwe Travel and Trekking team thanks you for the trust you have placed in us. Asante!
