Stay : 4-day desert tour from Marrakech for the nomad festival

Departure from Marrakech at 8:30 am.

You will first cross the Atlas Mountains. One beautiful landscape follows another. The road winds through the Atlas Mountains.

Arrival around midday in Ouarzazate.

Lunch in the town. The afternoon is devoted to sightseeing in this quiet town in southern Morocco.

Overnight in a traditional riad.

After breakfast at the riad in Ouarzazate, day 2 of this tour takes you through the beautiful Drâa Valley.

After taking the road that winds through the Anti-Atlas mountains, you enter the Drâa Valley. You'll discover the village of Agdz and descend to Zagora.

Palm groves and small villages follow one another.

Lunch break in Zagora.

Then off to the village of M'hamid. We stop at Tamegroute to visit the pottery workshops. After about 1 hour, the desert comes into view.

Settle into camp and welcome tea.

Dinner at the camp. Then off to see the Nomad Festival (music) held every year at this time of year. This is the opening day of the Festival, with several local and African groups taking part.

Return to camp - overnight in nomad tents.

This 3rd day of your tour will be rich in discoveries.

Breakfast at camp. Then you're off in 4x4 to the Erg Chegaga dunes. You'll drive for around 1h30 to 2h on a track in the Sahara.

Arrival at midday in Chegaga. Enjoy a hearty lunch in a nomad camp.

Afterwards, you can try your hand at sandsurfing on the large dunes.

We'll also book you in for a 1-hour camel ride.

You can even visit the nomads who live in the Sahara.

In the afternoon, departure for M'hamid, where you'll attend the 2nd evening of the Festival. This is an authentic encounter with the nomads.

Overnight in a hotel in M'hamid.

After breakfast at the hotel, you take the road back to Marrakech.

After winding your way up the Drâa Valley, you'll head for Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains.

Arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day.
