Stay : The Call of the Great North
From your cabin at Valkea Lodge in Finnish Lapland, you can participate in a week-long adventure trip with a number of excursions already included. Throughout your stay, you will use warm and thermal clothing to get out into the unspoiled nature of Finnish Lapland
The program includes a snowshoeing trip, a snowmobile trip, a reindeer sledding trip with a visit to the Arctic Snow Hotel and a one-day dog sledding trip. You can fill the 2 free days in different ways. You can book optional excursions, rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and explore the landscape or go skiing on the small alpine ski run next to the lodge.
Enjoy the delicious and authentic Scandinavian cuisine in the main building.

Detail of the stay : The Call of the Great North - 8 days
Day 1: On the way to Lapland!
Flight to Lapland, transfer to Valkea Lodge (2 hours) and check-in.
Upon arrival, try on the thermal outdoor clothing that you will keep for the duration of your stay.
In the evening, delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant.
Day 2: Snowshoe walk
This morning, after a good breakfast, an active day close to nature awaits you. Put on your snowshoes and enter the snowy ancestral pine woods in search of fresh footprints. Hare, fox, reindeer, elk, squirrel... ? Will you be able to recognize them? During the walk, the guide will explain everything about the Lappish fauna and flora, which will no longer hold any secrets for you!
Lunch in the middle of nature, around a campfire. Duration: 5 hours
In the evening, a three-course dinner is served in the lodge restaurant.
Day 3: Snowmobile adventure
After your breakfast and the guide's instructions, you start the engines and drive on the frozen lakes and through the snowy forests by snowmobile (5h/2 persons per scooter). Lunch is served in the wilderness around a campfire.
Return to the lodge in the late afternoon and enjoy a 3 course dinner. If you are staying in a cabin without a sauna, you can use - for an extra charge - the "Arctic Sauna Experience", the lodge's sauna located on the river.
Day 4: Visit of the reindeer and the Arctic Snow Hotel
In the morning, after a buffet breakfast, you will enjoy the nature from your reindeer-drawn sled (2 persons/sled - 8km). Lunch is served outside around a campfire. The day continues with a guided tour of the Arctic Snow Hotel and its splendid ice chambers with their unique decor.
Return to the lodge in the late afternoon and enjoy a delicious dinner.
*The visit of the Arctic Snow Hotel is not possible for the last arrival in Lapland on 01/04/2023
Day 5: Free day
In the evening, keep an eye on the starry sky. Maybe you will see an aurora borealis dancing under your eyes..
Day 6: Dog sledding day
After breakfast, visit the kennel. Safety instructions from the guide, then departure for a day trip with the huskies (5 hours - 1 person / sled - about 30 to 40 km). You leave in a team of four to six Alaskan huskies through the magical landscape.
Lunch is served in the wilderness around a campfire.
Return to the lodge in the late afternoon and have dinner.
Day 7: Free day
If you are lucky, you will be able to see the magical Northern Lights tonight, which will close this week of winter wonderland!
Day 8: Back to Belgium
Transfer to the airport and flight back to Brussels, head full of memories!
