Day 1: Aveiro and lagoon village
Steps: Aveiro
Discover Aveiro, and the villages around the lagoon: São Jacinto, Torreira, Ovar and Estarreja. Here you'll find many picturesque fishing villages and their moliceiros, small colorful boats that ply the great lagoon populated by pink flamingos.
Day 2: Costa Nova
Visit of the villages and detour by Costa Nova whose beach is festooned with small striped houses.
Day 3: Medieval villages
Steps: Serra Da Estrela, Belmonte
In the Beiras, discover ten ancient medieval villages located between the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and the Spanish border. Most of these villages, built between the 12th and 14th centuries, have undergone extensive restoration and preservation work in recent years. Don't miss Almaida, Castelo Mendo, Castelo Novo, Castelo Rodrigo and Belmonte.
Day 4: Medieval villages, continued and finished
Steps: Monsanto
Continue your visit to the medieval villages of Idanha-a-Velha, Linhares, Marialva, Monsanto, Piodao and Sortelha.
Day 5: Hiking
Steps: Serra Da Estrela
Head for the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. Home to some of the country's highest peaks, it is also ideal for hiking.
Day 6: Coimbra
Steps: Coimbra, Conimbriga
Discover the city of Coimbra, renowned since the Middle Ages for its superb university and Roman remains (in the center and in Conimbriga).
Day 7: Thermes and Palaces
Steps: Luso
Then go north and enjoy the Luso thermal spa before visiting the wonderful palace of Bussaco and its forest.
