Detail of the stay : Rwanda: three days in the country of the gorillas - 4 days

  • Parc National Des Volcans
  • Parc National Des Volcans

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Dinner and night in Kigali.

Day 2: Visit of Kigali and road to the volcanoes park

Steps: Parc National Des Volcans

Visit of the city and its memorial, located in Gisozi. Lunch in a restaurant in the capital, then departure in the afternoon for the town of Kinigi, 120 km from Kigali, on the edge of the national park of volcanoes. Dinner and night in a lodge or a hotel in Kinigi.

Day 3: On the mountain gorilla trail

Early morning appointment at the park office to complete entry formalities. The park is located between 2,000 and 4,000 m above sea level, is home to five of the eight Virunga volcanoes and is composed of a very dense and humid forest. Trackers leave at dawn to locate gorilla groups. Their location is then communicated to your guide. Your walk can last between 20 minutes and 5 hours, you will evolve on more or less practicable forest paths, feet in the mud and head in the clouds, but... the reward is huge! Strong emotions are guaranteed when you arrive at the meeting point with a group of gorillas, usually composed of 8 to 20 individuals. You will spend an hour observing them. A unique experience. Dinner and overnight in a lodge or hotel near the park.

Day 4: The golden monkeys, the other meeting

Steps: Parc National Des Volcans

The second day of trekking in the volcano park will allow, in the morning, to approach the golden monkeys, small primates that can easily be observed in the park and whose proximity you will appreciate. They are playful and not very shy. An alternative is to climb the Bisoke volcano. Lunch on site and return to Kigali in the afternoon
