Day 1: Arrival in the capital

Arrival formalities in Windhoek, car rental, last reservations and purchase of equipment if necessary. An advice, as a family, do not take the risk to improvise on the spot, in high season the camps and lodges are often full 6 months in advance!
Day 2: First steps in the Kalahari Desert
Steps: Windhoek
It is a 3h30 drive from Windhoek. Discovery of the Kalahari. 4x4 safari across the dunes, looking for springboks, oryxes, or bat-eared jackals
Day 3: Kalahari Desert: meeting the Bushmen
The Kalahari is also the ancestral territory of the Bushmen (or Bushmen), a nomadic people of hunter-gatherers who occupied the whole of southern Africa for thousands of years, before being relegated to the Kalahari Desert today. Only a minority has preserved its ancestral way of life. You can visit the San village-museum, the Living Museum of the Ju/'Hoansi-San in Grasshoek.
Day 4: Namib: another desert, another scenery
Steps: Mariental, Sesriem - Dunes De Sossusvlei
Direction Sesriem. It takes about 4 hours to drive (about 280 km from Mariental). A stunning landscape at sunrise and sunset. Depending on the age of the children and the family spirit, have an unforgettable experience of a night under the stars in the desert.
Day 5: Namib Desert, the time of discovery
Steps: Sesriem - Dunes De Sossusvlei
A challenge awaits you: the ascent for the most courageous of the highest dunes in the world (about 300 meters), Big Dady or Big Mamy. The reward is significant: an exceptional view of the famous site of Sossusvlei. An ocean of sand with, in its centre, the dry lake of Deadvlei and its frozen trees
Day 6: Beach stop: the Atlantic coast

It takes 5-6 hours to drive from Sesriem to Walvis Bay. This step can be organized very well between the first two, if you do not want to link the Kalahari and Namib
Day 7: Beach and excursions to Walvis Bay
Steps: Walvis Bay, Cape Cross
Beach and excursions. Observation of pink flamingos in Walvis Bay or boat cruise to meet dolphins, pelicans, cormorants. An excursion to Cape Cross, home to more than 80,000 sea lions, remains a must-see experience
Day 8: Stroll in Swakopmund
Steps: Swakopmund
Beach and visit Swakopmund, typical for its colonial architecture. Shopping at the craftsmen's.
Day 9: On the way to Etosha
Steps: Walvis Bay, Omaruru, Etosha National Park
To the animals of the savannah! From Walvis Bay to Etosha, it is a 6-hour drive. Midday stop in Omaruru. Overnight in a camp on the outskirts of the park or directly inside the park in a Rest Camp to enjoy the exceptional setting from the very beginning.
Day 10: Etosha National Park Safari
Steps: Etosha National Park
Etosha Park in total freedom. At your own pace. The paved roads allow easy travel within the park. At the hottest times of the day, you can take a break in a Rest Camp with swimming pool. At least one night in the park offers an incredible spectacle at dusk and dawn. The Rest Camps are installed near water points where the animals come to drink. Excitement and emotion guaranteed. The children will have their eyes filled with stars
