Age restrictions
To consume alcohol or enter a discotheque, you need to be of legal age.
What's very local
Traditional costumes take pride of place at folk festivals. In Austria, women proudly parade in Dirndl, an outfit consisting of a fitted bodice, blouse, full skirt and colorful apron, while men show their pride in Lederhose, leather shorts with suspenders, often complemented by a feathered hat. In the Italian Tyrol, the traditional costume, also known as Tracht, shares this same elegance, adorned with decorated hats and scarves.
Smokers
In Austria, until recently, it was quite common to smoke in bars and restaurants. However, since November 2019, a complete ban on smoking in all bars and restaurants has been in force. In Italy, a similar law banning smoking inside public places has been in force since 2005.
