Direct trains to Bucharest (4 per day, 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.), Oradea (8 per day, 2.30 a.m. to 4 a.m.), Bistrița (3 per day, 3 a.m.), Iași (3 per day, 8.30 a.m.), Sighetu Marmației (2 per day, 6.30 a.m. to 7 a.m.), Baia Mare (2 per day, 4 hours), Timișoara (3 per day, 6 to 9 hours), Brașov (4 per day, about 7 hours), Sighișoara (4 per day, 4 to 5 hours), Miercurea Ciuc (1 per day, 6.40 hours), Alba Iulia (3 per day, 2.30 to 3 hours). 3 trains per day to Budapest (7 to 8 hours).

Cluj-Napoca has a dynamic airport, served by several airlines. The national airline Tarom (piața Mihai Viteazul 11, open weekdays from 9am to 5pm, +40 264 432 669) offers flights to Bucharest and Iași. The Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air operates flights to Bucharest, Brașov, Constanța and Dublin. It's right next to the railway station. Several buses leave daily for Târgu Mureş, Sibiu, Făgăraş, Bistriţa, Agnita... There are also local buses for the surrounding villages. Not always convenient: for example, to get to Biertan, you'll have to go through Mediaş and change buses. The bus station is small and tickets are bought inside, in the store. Maxitaxis, which run between Bucharest (Strada Ritmului) - Braşov - Tărgu Mureş, stop here very frequently. Some international buses to France (with Romfour).

Connect between Bucharest and Cluj (by passing through Alba Iulia, Sibiu and Valecea Valecea).

It's about 1 km from the center, on the other side of the river. Sighișoara is located on the line connecting Bucharest to Oradea (then Budapest, for certain routes). So it's easy to reach these towns, as well as Brașov (6 trains a day, 3h to 3h30 journey time), Sinaia (2 a day, 4h20 journey time), Mediaș (7 a day, 30 to 40 minutes journey time) and Cluj (3 a day, 3h30 journey time). A small local train, slow but offering pretty landscapes and villages, reaches Odorheiu Secuiesc, in the Sicilian country (3 per day, 1h45).
