This charming hotel is one of the best establishments in Craiova. Located in the centre of the town, just opposite the university, the Hotel Helin Central offers beautiful, clean and well-equipped rooms at very affordable rates. They are decorated in an elegant Baroque style, recreating a very 19th century atmosphere, with antique tapestries, white furniture, chandeliers and armchairs upholstered with floral motifs. The reception is very professional and the breakfast is hearty.

At 5-10 minutes walk from downtown, in a quiet area, you will be warmly welcomed in the house of the Criveanu family. It has 8 double rooms, all simple and a little austere, in which it is possible to install an extra bed, for families with one child. You will particularly appreciate the beautiful garden, carefully flowered and planted with trees, with its gazebo, barbecue, swing and orchard. You will also enjoy a beautiful covered terrace and you will have access to a well-equipped kitchen to prepare your meals.

It's one of the only hotels in the resort that isn't made of concrete. On the banks of the river Olt, this large building is superb, with its central tower that gives it the air of a castle. But there is nothing sumptuous about the interior. However, it is a cheap establishment, which has an indoor swimming pool fed by geothermal spring water, as well as a small outdoor pool with slides. There is also a treatment centre and restaurant. Its rooms are decorated in warm red-orange tones.

A little higher up, this establishment offers 38 rooms, including 3 apartments and 1 studio, with a slightly dated but warm decoration. In its elegant dining room, whose large bay windows overlook the wooded hills, you will find a menu with both Romanian and international influences. The terrace offers an even more unobstructed view of the surroundings. The hotel's treatment base has facilities for electrotherapy, inhalation therapy and hydrotherapy. There is also a sauna and fitness room.

This is a mansion that claims to be the only one in the country that is also an art museum: it houses galleries where some 500 works by Romanian artists are exhibited. Bordering the park Zăvoi, close to the centre, this beautiful building offers 61 rooms (including 3 apartments) that are spacious, comfortable and very chic. Overlooking the boulevard that crosses the city from east to west, the hotel also has a restaurant, where you can enjoy Romanian and European dishes. It also offers a daily lunch menu, prepared with fresh market produce. Nice terrace and free parking.

For very low rates, it offers seven triple and one double room, as well as a large room for five people and an apartment with two double rooms. The rooms are quite modern, spacious and comfortable. All of them have their own bathroom, a small corner with table and chairs and a mini-fridge. The interiors are simple, but rather nice and clean. The establishment also has a terrace.

In a beautiful bourgeois house in the town center, not far from the Porte du Baiser, the Pension Antique offers 10 spacious and elegantly decorated rooms. There's also a pleasant restaurant, with a beautiful dining room under brick vaulted ceilings, decorated in classic chic or contemporary industrial style. There are also two terraces, one covered, the other in a pretty courtyard surrounded by greenery. The menu mixes traditional and international dishes.

Just a stone's throw from the central square, in a fairly recent building flanked by a medieval-style tower, this hotel offers a dozen spacious, comfortable rooms. Some are quite elegant, with beautiful molded woodwork, others are more functional and less charming. The apartments are equipped with a basic kitchenette and a living room. Renovated from top to bottom in 2016, it offers around 20 rooms and suites, decorated in a very refined period style, without compromising on comfort. Each one has its own personality, its own cachet. There is also an excellent and elegant restaurant, as well as a wine cellar and bar. In addition, the service is meticulous. And all this at ridiculously low prices!
