About 15 km from the city is the Chungju Dam, which holds back the water of the South Hangang River, creating a beautiful artificial lake almost 60 km long. There is a dock near the dam from which the ferries leave on the lake.
Some boats stop in Janghoe, the stop to admire 2 of the 8 wonders of Danyang. The boats are open and there is a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and rocks. Not to be missed if there's time. You can also rent speedboats by the hour.

This small resort (also called Sajo) has 7 slopes and 3 lifts. It offers ski lessons for foreigners and a toboggan run. A touch of originality, you can even ski at night. It is an ideal resort to combine winter sports and relaxation with thermal springs. For accommodation, it is best to return to Suanbo or Chungju. Good station, a little less overrun than Gangwondo.
