LE VEILLEUR DE NUIT DE TURCKHEIM
Read moreWhen you visit Turckheim, you can't miss the night watchman's round, a real institution. During the tourist season, the watchmaker gives you an appointment every night at 10:00 p. m. before the Guard Corps for his round-time round of sixteen stops. It will make you discover the neighborhoods of the city, with its history of historical anecdotes, traditional singing and small notes of humor. " Han sori zu Fir und Liacht " (translate" take care of the hearth and candle "): that was the recommendation that the night watchman addressed to his fellow citizens when he started his service. It was also the reason for this municipal employment: monitor the streets and alert the fire. Turckheim's last "real" watchman died during the battles of the liberation of the Colmar Pocket until in 1953, the company of history Wickram decided to honor this character. Today, four of them have taken over and relayed during the tourist season: Jean-Luc Killy, Jean Lihrmann, Louis Meyer and Marcel Sattler. A magical show, full of folklore, to discover from May 1 to October 31.

In the Silver Val d 'Argent of the creators as diverse as Olivier Cadiot, Herman Düne, Jeanne Balibar, Rachid Taha, Dominique A or Thomas Dutronc… This year Laurent Garnier, Jeanne Added, Erik Truffaz, Winter Family and other friends of Kat Onoma decided to answer!

Each month, an artist is invited to express himself through a personal and large-scale work that remains on display for a month, in full view of everyone, directly in the street, giving it a different and ephemeral touch each time and adding to the renewed dynamism of this part of the city centre. In front of the WALL, you can't remain indifferent!

The route offers streets, forests and paths.
