This atypical, must-see venue is undergoing a major transformation! The challenges: the ecological need to make the building more efficient, but also to transform the spaces. It's true that, under the leadership of Thomas Ress, this third-party venue has become increasingly professional over the years. For almost 10 years now, a wind of renewal has been blowing through the building, with a much more advanced cultural program - and let's not hesitate to say it: a real performance hall! There are still over 150 leisure activities, a music school and a library.

Located near the campus and the Grillenbreit district, the Grillen is the contemporary music hall managed by the city of Colmar since 1998. Its capacity does not exceed 350 seats, the concerts remain intimate, far from the zeniths and the gigantic and impersonal halls. All musical styles are represented: pop, rock, punk, soul, metal, hardcore, garage, electro, experimental, rap, blues... Teachers from the conservatory also come to perform there and the hall is open to all associations wishing to organise alternative and festive evenings (notably Live!, After Dark, Hiéro Colmar, Hopla! Zone 51...) The Grillen also puts two rehearsal studios at the disposal of local bands who regularly have the opportunity to showcase their talent during opening acts. Be careful, don't arrive too late on concert evenings as the seats are free (and standing). To preserve your ears, Le Grillen provides earplugs and, in the interest of ecology, the bar's cups are consigned. Le Grillen also hosts very friendly improvisation match evenings and other events such as the jazz off festival. All you have to do is enjoy the concerts, massed in the crowd or in the adjoining bar!

The Comédie de l'Est has changed its name under the impetus of its new directors, Émilie Capliez and Matthieu Cruciani, who are keen to make its local roots more visible. It is now called the Comédie de Colmar. For the rest, the new Comédie de Colmar continues its mission of original creations and presentation of works from all over Europe: theater, opera, dance and shows for children. In a bid to make culture accessible to all, it regularly organizes workshops open to specific audiences.

In August 1992, the first evening took place in this industrial wasteland converted into a modern music scene. These labels attributed by the Ministry of Culture as well as the associative history which carried this project contributed to make the "Nouma" a high place of the music in Alsace and in France. La Filature also houses La Galerie, for photo exhibitions, the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra and the Rhine National Opera. For several years now, the theater of the Rue du Ballon has not abandoned its grip on the small world of amateur theater, although in this particular case we can speak of professionalism. It revisits the classic repertoire as well as contemporary pieces. This 300-seat room dedicated to humour in all its forms was created by two passionate lovers of living art and scratch-hair, the couple Marguier. Because they lacked a place to express in an amusing way their local and national favourites, the Warehouse had to fill this void. The programming is of high quality, and many national artists come here to test their new shows. The most? The possibility of having dinner or a drink before or after the show.

The Palace shows films in their original version. The selection is rigorous and alternates between some blockbusters and art house films. The combination is relevant and effective. The current director has managed to take over the reins of this unique downtown cinema and to get back on track in terms of admissions. The year 2022 was rather good despite a very delicate national economic situation. He regularly organizes unique screenings of legendary films as well as exhibitions of local artists. Mulhousians seem to really appreciate it!

Espace Dollfus et Noack, also known as ED&N, is an indispensable venue. Known for its programming that makes room for all French-speaking artists, it's a chance to sing, with concerts, comedy shows and theater for the whole family and all generations from 7 to 77. Major French and international artists perform here regularly. Add to this a team of passionate performers and a top-notch program, and this is the venue that counts. The Kinepolis is a complex with 14 theaters in Mulhouse that offers a generalist and family program to which are added live and simultaneous broadcasts of concerts, ballets, operas, previews and documentaries. An award-winning Belgian concept, Eddy Duquenne, President of Kinepolis Group, received the award for best cinema operator at CinemaCon, the largest event for the film industry in the world in 2014. Since then, the concept has been working well and moviegoers have been flocking to it.

The Mulhouse Alsatian Theatre is committed to the preservation and development of dialectal theatre and popular culture in Mulhouse, through the regular production of plays in dialect, often written by regional authors. Every year, the TAM presents its famous "Herre'n Owe" and "Dame'n Owe". Its HQ is located next to the Théâtre de la Sinne. The Circle has a bar and two halls and is home to the rehearsals of the youth dialectal theatre school.

With its intimate setting, the cinema offers a rich and varied program for everyone. Le Bel-Air is not a cinema where you just go to "consume" a film. A place for sharing and exchange, the year at Bel-Air is packed with events, including meetings around program cycles, and the Augenblick Festival, a regional German-language film festival. Young audiences are also catered for, with image education programs such as École & Cinéma, and the "Kinderclasse": films in German for bilingual classes.

Concerts, cinema, exhibitions, festivals, puppets: the Lézard association organizes contemporary art exhibitions that show the richness of local plastic creation. The association also develops a rich musical program inside and outside the walls, with the Grillen. It also programs film-debate evenings with the CGR on societal issues. Initiator of very popular festivals, in particular the Musiques métisses festival programmed each year in spring in various places, the Lézard is never short of playful and eclectic ideas.

Throughout the year, the La Coupole theatre offers theatre, dance, music and circus shows... The programme is to be discovered on the website: classical dance, hip hop, puppet theatre, opera... To share these great artistic and cultural moments, La Coupole has a 504-seat auditorium, a small 100-seat theatre and a three-screen cinema located right next to the theatre. A bar is open before and after the performances as well as during intermissions.

Named "The Shell", Colmar's outdoor theater welcomes the Colmar Wine Fair every year in the summer. This is an inevitable event where a multitude of singers and groups are taking place for the great pleasure of the Colmarians. Programming is like its legendary habit. Le Chanfrein is a tiny bar with probably one of the smallest stages in the region, adjacent to the Le Cheval Blanc restaurant in Brunstatt. It's a low-ceilinged café with a few high tables and chairs, a neat and functional counter, a micro-stage in one corner, where local and regional bands of all styles perform every first and third Saturday of the month, a dynamic village bar-pub. In the evening, especially in summer, the terrace adds to the charm of this café, which attracts a large clientele.
