Read moreDon't miss this new museum created in memory of mining activity. After closing the main deposits in the region, a group of former miners wanted to save coal activity in a cultural heritage. Thus was born this project an interactive museum, very informative, where the mining reoriented as guides. The circuit, which includes an underground gallery, replicates the real-scale experience of the working environment of minors.

SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT AND FRANCISCAN MUSEUM
Read moreFounded in 1835, this convent was the mother house of the Franciscan missions in the south. The region owes them about fifteen churches between Río Biueno and Chillán. The convent museum exhibits various ancient objects, including a incunable printed in Venice in 1495 and a tanagra, Greek terracotta figurine dating from before our age, and others, cultuels, such as chalices, th-as well as colonial furniture and a rich collection of images carved in wood… We can also see letters from O'Higgins, who was pupil of the Franciscans in his childhood.
