The Meeting Stanislas du Grand Nancy is a major event of the French athletics federation. It is an international competition where great athletes and hopefuls come to prepare their summer season. The Meeting Stanislas (12 events scheduled and thousands of spectators at each edition) is in the (good) hands of the NAM, the Nancy Athletics Metropolis and ensures to remain a major event in the field. Its thirty years of existence impose respect. A great crowd to meet in June, at the Raymond-Petit stadium in Tomblaine!

The Stanislas Seven is an international men's and women's rugby 7s tournament that takes place in the spring at the Matter Stadium. It brings together national and regional senior teams as well as specialized clubs and associations for two days. The different teams compete in pools and then in elimination matches. This competition attracts more and more international teams, giving rise to very beautiful tables against national selections of very high level. Many teams prepare their 7-a-side rugby season here... A success!

The Société lorraine d'astronomie is a major meeting place for astronomy enthusiasts and professionals, whether they are curious or in love with the sky. Located in the Faculty of Science and Technology in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, the association has a dome, but public observation evenings are often organised in the countryside to benefit from clear skies. During the major annual national events (Nuits des Étoiles, Science en Fête, etc.), the members of the association are available to the public for evenings of discovery accessible to the greatest number.

Every two years since 2013, La Biennale de la Danse offers two months of shows and performances around contemporary dance. At the origin of the event, there is the André Malraux cultural centre in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, and the national stages in Bar-le-Duc and Forbach, with the obvious support of the Ballet de Lorraine. Subsequently, the event grew in size, to about thirty venues in the Grand-Est. A veritable laboratory for contemporary creation, which showcases both regional companies and troupes from all over the world.

The photographic event is organized biannually by the Observatoire Photographique du Grand Est, a structure that came into being after the International Image Biennial came to an end. The first edition of this event took place in 2021 on the theme of "Des arbres et des hommes" ("Trees and people"). In 2023, the featured photographers - both established professionals and up-and-coming artists - will work on the theme of "Dancing with the Earth". Artistic and cultural workshops, screenings, concerts, conferences and workshops will also be on the program.

THE street arts event! Created in 2006, the Michtô festival continues to develop, to bring together young and old, circus and street art lovers, around a hundred shows and festive activities over a month, in a spirit of sharing and good humor... The festival takes place on the site of Grand Sauvoy, rue de la Solidarité, on the border between Nancy and Maxéville. It is also the highlight of the Memô, a factory for circus and street arts, located on the former site of the Brasseries de Maxéville. A real daydream!

RING for Rencontres internationales des nouvelles générations. Set up by Michel Didym, director of the Théâtre de la Manufacture, this festival takes place every two years and advocates the opening of theater to all audiences. It highlights new forms of theatrical expression, contemporary and committed, which shake up genres and codes, without borders: the companies come from all over Europe and elsewhere. The RING festival also includes meetings, debates, concerts and... a lot of fun!

The Bibasse Convention is a juggling festival that has been held every year for the past 8 years, at the end of May, at the MJC 3 Maisons. Four days dedicated to the circus arts and live entertainment, with performances in the street and under the big top, workshops and initiation workshops, open stages, gala, parade, games... A show for the general public, but which also allows artists to meet, work together and improve their skills in a warm atmosphere, with camping and parties in the big top. Reservations strongly recommended.

Organized by the ASPTT Nancy Meurthe-et-Moselle, this race takes place on the famous Saint-Nicolas day. A family and festive event above all: the 10 km race is a loop with no significant difference in altitude, in cobbled streets and alleys of the park, to be completed four times. At the end of the draw, participants will receive numerous prizes and bonuses at the finish line. A "family race" starts at around 12:00, for all, without medical certificate.

Kite lovers, meet for two events organized by the club Est-Air. In spring, Eurovolies, at the racecourse, gives to see free static or acrobatic flights, with many kite pilots and kite creators from France and neighbouring countries. The whole family will enjoy it! In mid-June, Eurovolindoor, a kite show, reenchants us, still in Villers, but this time, indoors. Impressive!

Every year, in the Sainte-Marie park, more than 120 craftsmen, horticulturists, gardeners, nurserymen, landscapers, gather for a weekend to show you their beautiful crops and their latest creations. The Potters' Market is an event that takes place every year, in the summer and at Christmas, during the art market organized by Métiers d'art métropole. Among all these craftsmen, come and meet the ceramists who are ready to enlighten you on their know-how, their ideas, their techniques and their universe. Sculptures, vases, teapots and glasses delicately shaped, unique dishes beautifully decorated, small figurines and other original creations where colors and materials are combined wonderfully are presented for our greatest pleasure...

Organized by the association TEKHNE, this event takes place every two years in Nancy and nearby cities and allows the general public to discover the work of local artists. Over a weekend, more than 200 artists open the doors of their studios to present their work and their latest creations. The next edition will be held in 2023, so don't forget to get a map of all the open studios to plan your route.

Every two years, students from all over eastern France gather at the 24h de Stan to race around the Place Carrière on gigantic floats decorated according to a theme. Artistic shows, parades, games and tombolas are organized in parallel, and each school has a stand in the square. The atmosphere is good-natured, and the prizes awarded are mostly symbolic and humorous. The event ensures Nancy's reputation as a student city, as young people take over the city to celebrate student life in just 24 hours!

Every year at the beginning of the summer, the Douëra park comes alive for the Douëraphonies and is transformed into an "ephemeral musical village". La Semaine de l'Impro, created in 2010, has become a not-to-be-missed event in Nancy for discovering or rediscovering this festive and collective form of theater. The festival, conceived by the Crache-Texte company and the Impro Nancy association, features performances at the Théâtre Mon Désert of theatrical, musical, clowning, audiovisual and literary improvisation, as well as happenings by artists from Brazil, Colombia, Belgium and the USA. Workshops open to all and a grand gala match at the Salle Poirel round off the program.

The program of the Rencontres Théâtrales de Tomblaine: to make culture accessible to the greatest number of people and to make the artistic fiber of the Grand Nancy vibrate. Many professional shows of great quality are proposed. Masterclasses and exhibitions also take place, as well as amateur shows presented by local groups, colleges and high schools of the territory. In all, nearly 10,000 visitors and more than 1,000 young people are involved, a dynamic that makes the festival the most important theatrical event in the region.

The Grand Nancy Métropole HB is the professional handball club of reference in Lorraine. The first team has been playing in Proligue (D2) for more than 10 years, the reserve team in National 3 and the under 18 in the French Championship. From baby hand to adults, the handball school is certified by the French Federation. The Red Fox, their supporters, attend the matches at the Parc des Sports de Vandoeuvre Nations. Pépinière en Fête manages to make us forget the nostalgia of the summer period and to anticipate the arrival of pumpkins and other cucurbits.

An edition of the Salon bio et Bien-Être in Saint-Max (a town near Nancy) organised by Envie de Bien-être at the Gérard Léonard cultural centre. About forty exhibitors will be present. Conferences, workshops and various animations will be programmed throughout the two days.
