The northern suburbs of Tunis are served by the TGM, a small train that runs between Tunis-La Goulette-La Marsa, serving La Goulette, the Kram, Salammbo, Carthage and Sidi Bou Saïd. The total journey from Tunis to La Marsa takes 25 to 30 minutes. Fast, convenient and cheap, this train is similar to the metro in terms of the number of stations and the distances between them. Departures from Tunis from 3h15 and from La Marsa from 3h48. The last departure from Tunis is at 0:30 am and from La Marsa at 0:06 am. Pleasant journey but beware of rush hours!

The city of Tunis has three stations: the central station, located on Ali Darghouth Street, the bus station Tunis-North, located Bab Saadoun, and the bus station Tunis-South, located Bab El Falla. The central station operates connections to Kairouan, Tozeur, Nefta, Djerba, Douz, Tatouine, Sousse. The Tunis-Nord station offers connections to Ain Draham, Bizerte, Beja, Mateur, Jendouba, Tabarka, Le Kef, etc. To get a leaflet centralizing the train schedules, go to the station ticket office. For specific schedules, a simple call is enough.

Train

The trains of the Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT) serve several nerve centres in the country:Hammam-Lif, Bizerte, Grombalia, Bir Bou Rekba, Hammamet, Nabeul, Enfidha, Sousse, Monastir, Mahdia, El Jem, Sfax, Mahrès, Gabès, Gafsa and Metlaoui. With rotations of up to 18 per day for Tunis-Sousse, 6 for Tunis-Hammamet-Nabeul or 14 for Tunis-Béja. The suburban network includes the lines Tunis-Hammam, Lif-Borj Cedria and Sousse-Monastir-Mahdia. All information on fares and timetables can be found on the website.
