Located on the Karen Mogensen reserve, the Cerro Escondido hostel can accommodate up to 25 people in two cabins with two rooms of 4 to 6 people each and in the hostel, a collective room can accommodate up to 10 people.
Proposed activities. Many trails lead to the peninsula and the Gulf of Nicoya. A mirador, built at the top point of the reserve, allows you to admire the splendid panorama of the Gulf. Excursions are organised to discover the fauna and flora of the reserve. In these cases, the groups are limited to 15 persons.
Minimizing impact. Organic waste is buried and others are recycled.
Local population. The development of tourism activity provides jobs for the local population. During the tourist season, 7 people work in the hostel. The association also carries out environmental awareness, including the sorting of waste, among the local population.
This ecotourism hostel belongs to the ecological association Paquera, Lepanto and Cobano (ASEPALECO).
