Magnetic Island Sea Kayak offers a half-day sea kayak tour of the island. Departures are daily in the morning between 8:30 and 10:30 am. The trip lasts 2 hours and requires a low level of physical fitness. Participants are welcomed at 8:00 a.m. on Horseshoe Bay beach, where they receive instructions and safety briefings before being fitted with a life jacket and splash skirt. They are then introduced to sea kayaking. The guided tour takes in the rugged coastal beauty of Magnetic Island National and Marine Park. Participants also have the opportunity to learn more about the history and ecology of the region. On the way back, they can observe marine wildlife, including seabirds and, in season, turtles, dolphins and whales. The tour is suitable for beginners and intermediate paddlers and is done in double kayaks. Individual reservations must be made directly with the company.
