Celebrated on Australia Day as a protest against the arrival of the first settlement in the territory, the Yabun Festival is the largest Aboriginal celebration of the year. It is held in Sydney's Victoria Park and attracts between 10,000 and 15,000 spectators annually. In 2022, the Yabun celebrated its 20th anniversary.

It is Australia's largest country music festival. Each year, the Tamworth Country Music Festival celebrates the country music heritage of Australia over a 10-day period from Friday to Sunday with a variety of live performances and concerts at venues in Tamworth and around New South Wales.

The festival has been repeatedly ranked among the top ten music festivals in the world and is also the second largest country music festival in the world, after the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, USA.
