Seaside resorts

That's for sure: in Narbonne, we have a festive spirit and we know how to cultivate the art of living. Just let yourself be guided... At the bend in the winding roads of La Clape, still untouched by any concrete construction, protected areas oblige, we discover Narbonne-Plage, Saint-Pierre-la-Mer or even Gruissan, this old fishing village in circulation, and its beach of chalets magnified by Jean-Jacques Beinex's film, 37°2 in the morning. In Narbonne, each seaside resort is unique. Thus, the most family of all, Port-la-Nouvelle and its long walk along the waterfront. Leucate, also, its picturesque village with its colourful facades, with its many restaurants, galleries and shops, invites you to relax in the evening on one of the shaded terraces of the square. Leucate is also, from the cliff or the castle, a panorama as far as the eye can see on the Mediterranean Sea. And on the beaches, you never get tired of diving into its waters with breathtaking transparency

Sports and nature activities

Rest assured, sports enthusiasts will not be bored. Here, we launch into the air with windsurfing, or on the water with kitesurfing. We test the sand yacht on one of the most "rolling" beaches in the Mediterranean. Because the Narbonne region is a world reference point for all snow sports enthusiasts. Sun, wind, magnificent landscapes, experienced professionals...: everything is there to make your stay unforgettable. We indulge in running, rollerblading, jogging, the waterfront being arranged in this way or we venture a little further, in the middle of nature, on this vast playground that is the Narbonnaise. Not to mention learning paddle, the latest trendy sliding sport, or trying your hand at diving. Perfect for a family holiday with children, who have at their disposal terribly fun activities, such as buoy games on the water or outdoor games...

Immersion in preserved land

In this Mediterranean arc, the environment is protected by the Regional Natural Park, which contains preserved and wild landscapes, deserted beaches and dunes that evolve with the winds as they are walked, cycled or ridden. It is necessary to take the time to appreciate the magic of these timeless places, to stop at the saltworks of Gruissan or La Palme, to eat a few oysters after a visit to the fishermen's huts, the salt mountain and its ponds with pinkish highlights... Or to admire the fauna and flora, on the small road that borders the lagoons, between Bages and Peyriac-de-Mer. And walk to Le Doul, the beach of the pond, where time seems to stand still, return to the village after a swim, and settle down at Les Rosiers des Salins, a tea room where you can enjoy both sweet and salty flavours, at any time of the day, in the shaded courtyard of a vast Languedoc residence

In a completely different style, the winegrowers' estates throughout the summer open their doors to visitors for new concerts. Just like Domaine de l'Hospitalet, which, in the heart of a magnificent Clape vineyard, offers for its 12th Jazz Festival its full of emotions: four days of intense music, from July 28 to 31, with international artists Diana Krall, Selah Sue, Johnny Clegg and Jamie Cullum. Other headliners on the coast for two free concerts: Mickey 3D, on July 28 in Gruissan and Anggun, on August 19 in Saint-Pierre-la-Mer. Not to mention the summer and free events of the Festival itinérant, which mixes theatre, music and humour throughout the country. And then, we wouldn't miss the village festivals in the wooded squares for anything in the world. You can discover local products, dance the whale and other Occitan folk dances, and immerse yourself in a whole culture. Among the local festivals, the Bize-Minervois festival is popular, where the olive tree will be celebrated on July 24, for the 23rd year.
