Today, it covers almost 5 km2 and is divided into three parts by large avenues of chestnut trees. ŠMARNA GORA
Read moreIt is the Ljubljanese's favourite place on Sundays in the green, to enjoy a beautiful panorama without having to travel a lot. The mountain is easily recognizable about fifteen kilometres north of the capital with its two peaks of 676 m and 669 m. Šmarna Gora was already occupied in prehistoric times. The lowest peak is set with a church erected in 1712 dethroning a chapel that was built in 1314. The surrounding wall dates from Turkish invasions. A beautiful break to leave in communion with nature!
