Cut in two by the royal river, the department of Loir et Cher presents several faces as attractive as the others. The Loire valley is the setting for the prestigious châteaux of Blois, Chaumont, Cheverny and of course the most famous of them all, Chambord. These international stars should not make us forget other castles of incomparable charm such as Troussay, Selles sur Cher, Fougères and many others. To the south, the Sologne with its ponds and forests is the kingdom of hunting. Its small villages are home to many treasures to be discovered along a quiet road. In the north, the Loir valley is home to spectacular troglodytic villages such as Troo or Lavardin. And of course, gastronomy is at the service of local products such as game, mushrooms or fish from the Loire. There is no shortage of good restaurants to satisfy gourmets and gourmands.
