Formerly a cabaret, a "love hotel" and a ballroom, L'Impasse still offers three addresses - although more culturally oriented -: La Bal Books (bookshop), Le Bal'Café and, recently, Le Bal, a centre dedicated to documentary images, launched by the Association Amis de Magnum. 700 m² entirely renovated and now an independent platform dedicated to the representation of reality through images, L'Impasse is a place for heterogeneous exhibitions, production, publishing, pedagogy and meetings. A place of discovery and learning, your curiosity will be satisfied at every corner of the address.

It is above all to demonstrate that art is not just a luxury that buys millions of dollars or euros, that Square of artists exists. Since November 2011, this exhibition space has opened its doors in the 6 ^th arrondissement. This art gallery is supported by an Internet site that offers an online shop where you can discover works of art at affordable prices. The expo offers self-service works and highlights the large formats of 5 selected artists. This selection, very eclectic, changes regularly in order to show the originality and diversity of contemporary art. Emilie Biens is a multi-talented painter and illustrator. With a background in zoology, design and art history, she puts each of her skills at the service of art. Self-taught, she perfected a technique of illustration with Indian ink and then moved on to painting on canvas with acrylic. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Taylor Foundation and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. The following year, she opened her studio-gallery to exhibit her animal works with design curves - the only Parisian gallery specializing in scientific drawing! You can therefore find here Emilie's drawings, but also the works of other artists on the occasion of temporary exhibitions. The artist also offers courses for all levels and for all ages, focusing on environmental awareness. In short, a warm place, not far from a cabinet of curiosities!

Parallel to Vivienne Gallery, its glass dome, 15 metres high, was designed to compete with its stunning neighbour.

An address to know if you want to offer works of artists rated, but without large budgets: Catherine Putman publishes and publishes prints and works (unique) on paper, performed by contemporary artists of excellent reputation.

The stylist Agnès B ("B" for "Bourgois", since she was the wife of Christian Bourgois) opened her art gallery at rue du Jour in 1984. She has since moved there, and her reputation has grown. Take advantage of a copy of the Point d'Ironie, a free publication directed by the stylist and Hans Ulrich Obrist, who gives free reins to every number to a guest artist.

Emmanuel Perrotin is a young person who me more than a Conservative in the job… Twenty years ago he opened his first gallery and very quickly his small business grew. Now installed in the 3rd arrondissement, with a second gallery in Miami, he exposes Damien Hirst, Murakami or Othoniel (probably you have seen one of his works, finishing the exit of the Palais-Royal metro, in front of the French Comedy, like an arcade of large pearls carved into a translucent matter). He also made his own publication, Bing, on the cover of which one of his assistants, each time photographed or staged by a different artist.

It is in this beautiful mansion, built for the Duke of the Duke of the 750 th century, that is generated by the 2 m of the Retz Passage. Besides temporary (very appreciable) photography, you can also enjoy the small coffee and the shop. Good address.

Yvon Lambert's gallery occupies a special place in the contemporary art landscape in Paris: in Paris in 1967, he quickly promoted, in his young gallery, artists who became safe values.

A figurehead of the place, Daniel Templon is part of those gallery who literally "make" the history of contemporary art, like Léo Castelli in New York: a real myth! Galerie Lelong & Co. is an art gallery. It offers a variety of exhibitions by contemporary artists, as well as prints, artworks and books.

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful antique galleries in the capital. Set in the old hotel des Princes de Beauvau, built in 1771, the Aveline Gallery has 765 m 2, in which art works and rare pieces of furniture are brilliantly staged. Paintings, furniture and art objects from the th to th centuries, often from original royal or original origins. Other rarity: it is kindly welcomed, and every curious question receives a patient, even passionate answer. With bonus anecdotes!

A gallery specializing in photography. The area is not very large, and the rue d'Artois is not a most obvious choice to install an art gallery, but the Act 2 gallery has gradually made known, and some of the exhibitions are worth a detour.

Galerie L'Or du Temps is an art gallery located in the city.

25 years ago, Marion Meyer, a Man Ray friend and art expert, opened his gallery in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Over the years, she has imposed herself as a renowned specialist of the surrealist movement and Dada, exposing Man Ray precisely, or Francis Picabia, Marcel Duchamp…

Kamel Mennour opened his first gallery a decade ago. Nothing was suggested, after studies of economics, to start into the medium (already saturated). After a traineeship, he discovered this vocation, and in the first few years he has sought to expose renowned photographers, but so far not known in France (like Jan Saudek, whose rights to exploit works he holds). Since then, he has also given young artists a chance, creating a real springboard for some (Djamel Tatah, Kader Attia…).

An absolutely mythical gallery. Jeanne Bucher, originally founded in 1925 by his gallery rue du Search-Midi (in the same district), dared to gamble with avant-garde artists. The works of Hans Arp, Braque, Campigli, Chirico, Max Ernst, Giacometti, Juan Gris, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Lapicque, Laurens, Fernand Léger, Lipchitz, André Masson, Joan Miro, Mondrian, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso. As a result of its success, the gallery remained faithful to its guideline, becoming direct representative of some post-war artists (like Dubuffet, or Nicolas de Staël, Vieira da Silva). The gallery retained a work by each of the artists who were exposed: the collection gives rise to vertigo, which is representative of the history of art all over - or almost - of the twentieth century!
