MARCHÉ AUX FLEURS REINE ELISABETH II
Read moreThe flower and bird market (created in 1809) on the Ile de la Cité was renamed Marché aux Fleurs-Reine Elisabeth II during the British sovereign's visit in 2014. An emblematic and unusual place in the capital with its 1900 pavilions, there are a total of twenty kiosks. The bird market is held there every Sunday in a concert of chirping. But the Paris Council voted in February 2021 to stop selling birds and live species, a decision that should come into effect after the renovation of the space planned for 2023-2025. For now, this market remains an ideal place for a stroll or a chat with a botanical expert.
