Christmas is celebrated especially in the states of Sabah and Sarawak, where the largest Christian communities are located. Malaysians do not escape the tradition of the fir tree and these (often made of plastic) are richly decorated with balls, garlands, stars and everything that shines. As you wander through the bazaars and night markets, you will find something to decorate your own tree when you get home. Christians go to church on December 24th for midnight mass. Together they celebrate the birth of Jesus.
