ATV (ALGEMENE TELEVISIE VERZORGING)

This channel, broadcast through Telesur, is one of the oldest and most popular in Suriname. It was tested in 1983 and resumed broadcasting on August 15, 1987, after obtaining government approval. It also has a radio station, which is very popular. There are other popular TV stations in Suriname, such as Apintie Televisie, STVS (Surinaamse Televisie Stichting) and SCCN (Surinaamse Christelijke Combinatie Network).
