The most beautiful natural sites to discover West Coast

Next to the Arroyo Colla, this park allows a picnic on tables, canoeing and swimming, all in full nature. A little further, the Puente de Piedra is like a natural barrier between the city and the nature so dense, where the amateurs of nautical activities will find their happiness.

Colonia is also frequented for the charm of its coast. The currents have created sublime beaches of fine sand, ideal for relaxing and getting some colour. Stay within the bathing area, however, as the Río de la Plata is subject to currents that can sometimes be dangerous. Playa Fernando, less populated and more shady than its neighbour, Playa Honda, can be reached in 45 minutes on foot. It is a beautiful beach of fine sand bordered by pine and eucalyptus forests. Its crystalline waters also allow diving.

At the exit of the city, on the 53 ruta, you will discover a wooded park where relaxation is made. You are on the grass or eat lunch on picnic tables, and above all, you bathe in the river. Children's playgrounds are found, even if they prefer to make diving competitions, especially in summer when temperatures exceed 35 ° C.

It is surrounded by lush forest vegetation, and since the water is shallow, it is a good place to cool off, or to have a picnic in the shade of the willows, as the local residents do. Not far from there, going down the river, it joins the Rosario river , at the level of the Bote lagoon. This is a place where amateurs can enjoy fishing.
