The Schule für Holzbildhauerei in Brienz, Switzerland, is a woodcarving school offering training in design and crafts. Since 1884, it has been training apprentices in classical carving as well as in other crafts such as cooperage, basketry, woodturning and boissellerie. The school has a showroom where you can admire the apprentices' creations, from practice pieces to final projects. During opening hours, you can even watch two to four apprentices at work directly in the showroom. The exhibition also features traditional works and modern interpretations. To round off your visit, you can also visit the Brienz Woodcarving Museum or one of the local woodcarving companies. Guided tours of the school are also available on request.
