The best accommodations Ferghana Valley

Nearly 60 rooms, half of which have been fitted out in a 2011 building to increase the establishment's capacity. The old ones are therefore "standard", while the new ones, which are more comfortable and better equipped, are in a higher category. The rate includes access to the hotel's swimming pools, either outdoor or indoor. The welcome is always very pleasant, and the Asia Ferghana remains one of the best addresses of this small chain. The staff will be able to provide you with a lot of useful information about the valley.

Olga Daniels owns three apartments in the centre of Ferghana. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast can be made to order, but if you prefer you can also use the kitchen in the apartments to prepare your own meals after shopping at the bazaar. We are far from the traditional Uzbek house, but in the end why not also experience the Soviet buildings which are the habitat of a large part of the population? Olga is very kind and will be able to help and guide you during your stay.

The most expensive rooms are very spacious while the standard rooms provide the minimum for a good value for money, after negotiation. In the courtyard of the hotel you can enjoy a large swimming pool and a bar-restaurant. Air conditioning, wifi and television in all rooms. The hotel organizes excursions in the valley, with guide and interpreter. It is also possible to organize treks or horse rides. The establishment is a little off-centre, 3 km from the bazaar but connected to the centre by minibus.

This hotel is located in the heart of Kokand and 500 m from the palace. It has recently undergone a facelift, making it a good accommodation option in the area. The rooms are large, the bathrooms have finally been redone and the welcome is very pleasant. All in a kitschy decor as you wish! The comfort of the beds being random, test your mattress before accepting the room. The prices for foreigners that we note here are of course negotiable. Don't hesitate to ask for a discount, especially if you stay more than one night.

Conveniently located in the heart of the city and a 10-minute walk from the palace, Hotel Khan offers comfortable and well-equipped rooms (TV, air conditioning, wifi). The decoration is a little eye-catching, in a style that is a bit bourgeois and western and the rooms are not very spacious but it is a reliable address. Again, don't forget to negotiate prices! It is possible to dine at the hotel, provided you have booked the day before or in the morning. The reception also has contacts with local (English-speaking) guides.

This hotel has recently opened near the airport but is more for businessmen. It is not ideal for visiting Namangan and you will have to take cabs to reach the city center. However, as Namangan lacks accommodation options, it is a good alternative in the valley. The rooms are simple but clean. The beds are not very comfortable but it remains acceptable. On the other hand, do not hesitate to negotiate the prices which are too high considering the location and the services.

Beware, don't be fooled by the "neoclassical" façade and the hotel's pompous name: it is not a castle for the elite of the valley either... It is not too bad but the rooms are not very big, the beds could be a little more comfortable and the decoration modernized. Nevertheless, it is a typical example of the new constructions in Andijan that still keeps prices affordable. It is recommended to negotiate, as always, because the rates are in the image of the clientele, more business oriented than tourism oriented.

Watch your eyes! Here is the emblematic hotel of the reconstruction of Andijan: columns, fake marble, painted gilding, solid concrete, wood panelling ... everything is there. It's the temple of bad taste, but it's the pride of the city. Obviously not for everyone, and not within reach of everyone's pocket, but it's worth the detour. The rooms are spacious and comfortable: for this small palace, we expected nothing less. It remains to be seen how the materials, not exactly top quality, used for construction will age.

This hotel is located in a quiet side street overlooking Istiqlol Street, the main artery of Kokand. The property is clean and comfortable, with pleasant and sometimes spacious rooms, although very basic and devoid of character. Some of the staff speak English, which should make it easier for you to negotiate for the room and to glean some information during your stay. The welcome is pleasant which makes it a good address at low prices. Breakfasts are okay.

Opened in March 2017, this hotel, beautifully decorated with local fabrics, is one of the few establishments in the city to date, and undoubtedly the best address. A good choice if you want to spend the night in Marguilan. In addition to the rooms, which have no specific character but have the advantage of still being new, you will find a restaurant, a small bar and above all a piece of garden where it is pleasant to relax at the end of the day when the cooler weather returns. Breakfast buffet every morning.

Opened in May 2017, this very clean and spacious establishment is well located, north of the city's main crossroads. You will benefit from a swimming pool, a billiard table and even a fitness room. Very good value for money considering the equipment. The advantage of the establishment is that it is new, and in season the management calls on English-speaking staff. The disadvantage is its location, close to a very busy avenue, but you can't say that the nights in Ferghana are very noisy, so you should spend good nights here!

Ideally located near Marguilan town center, this youth hostel is charming. Spacious, well-equipped rooms, private bathroom, breakfast included, services and amenities are impeccable. The simplicity and warmth of the premises, and of the discreet yet hospitable family, make this a very good address for solo travelers. The communal areas are ideal for getting together with other travelers. A plus: a small garden with trees where you can relax at the end of the day.

The renovation of this great Soviet mastodon was completed in early 2013. It has at least had the merit of restoring some lustre to a building dominated by the greyness of the communist era. The result of the work lacks a bit of character, but at least the rooms are clean, comfortable and relatively spacious. The main advantage of this hotel is its location, very central, close to the bazaar and the park. This is an opportunity to stay in good conditions in what was once the finest accommodation before decades of neglect.

The hotel, built in 1963, has an astonishing interior architecture, with marble staircase, chandelier and murals that do not herald the comfort of the rooms but rather evoke the past greatness of the establishment, when Andijan was still the cotton capital of the valley. The rooms in this case are very simple, equipped with TV and air conditioning and all have a small bathroom, not very comfortable but functional. The building is central, facing the theatre and close to the bazaar.
