ULICA KROKODYLI

Bar and caf
5/5
1 review

On the corner of Szeroka Square, the Krokodyli is a must-see establishment when you venture into the alleys that separate the old Jewish quarter from its Christian counterpart. Coffee break, drinks with friends or disco on the dance floor, this bar is lively, especially in the evening, without the sometimes suffocating crowd of Nowy Square. The terrace at the back is a nice little hidden green area (you can order pasta and Pierogis from Warsztat and eat them here). An excellent spot to relax in the middle of the day in summer.

BAR MAJKA

Neighborhood bar

Majka is scary at first glance: it is, after all, a lounge bar in a dull gray reinforced concrete Soviet building that has not been refurbished since the fall of the Wall. However, the whole place is warmed by the warm presence of the regulars and staff, who have turned this cement shell into a seductive refuge that exudes a certain nostalgia for the socialist era. Its recent renovation creates an interior in stark contrast to its appearance and has expanded the list of draught beers served on site, much to the delight of the locals.

DYM

Neighborhood bar

A few wooden tables, a bar, a candle on each table, regulars... and it's done! This small neighborhood bar, whose name means "smoke", has not been empty despite the ban on smoking in public places. However, people used to come here to have a smoke at the counter, with friends, without any fuss. Today, the DYM continues to animate the local life and is often taken by storm in the evening, especially on weekends, by young Poles who want to have a drink a little more quietly away from the main roads.

PUB OMERTA

Neighborhood bar

This small neighborhood bar was the first in Krakow to serve craft beer when it opened about ten years ago. Two separate counters serve Polish beer and foreign beer. The waiters know a lot about the beverages they serve. On the walls, posters from the movie The Godfather. Over the years, it has become one of the locals' most beloved bars, with a regular crowd that contrasts somewhat with the youthful crowd on the other side of the block.
