Railway company

Auch station provides regular TER train connections with Toulouse, via Isle-Jourdain and Colomiers. All other train connections have been cancelled in the Gers. Therefore, the only way to get around the department using public transport is by bus. The station is equipped with an automatic ticket dispenser, a parking lot with 51 spaces and bike racks. The "Accès Train LIO" service for people with disabilities is available free of charge by booking at least 48 hours in advance.

The Lourdes train station is about 700 meters east of the Sanctuaries and most of the hotels in the Marian city. The station is on the Toulouse-Bayonne line. There are direct trains from Paris, and it takes 5 hours during the day. There is also a night train which connects the Paris-Austerlitz station to Lourdes in 10 hours 30 minutes. Finally, special connections are set up during the periods of pilgrimage, linking the city to all of Europe. Lourdes is also linked to Tarbes by train.

Vélô Toulouse provides self-service city bicycles for use by people aged 14 and over. There are 250 stations throughout the city, spaced out every 300 meters or so. It's easy to use: via a terminal and using your bank card. At the terminal, you'll be asked to authorize a €150 deposit. It's rare not to be able to find something to go around, as the stations are manned by staff who recharge the batteries. Pamiers' small, recently renovated station welcomes nearly 350,000 passengers a year, making it the busiest station in the Ariège. It is served by Intercity trains from Paris to the Spanish border at Latour-de-Carole-Entveigt station (two hours from Pamiers), where you can board the characteristic Yellow Tourist Train. It is also home to the TER (regional express train) that connects it to Toulouse. It has a car park, a bicycle park and automatic machines for selling TER tickets when the ticket offices are closed.
