When to go sur l'Ile de Noirmoutier ?
Placed under the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, the island of Noirmoutier has a particularly pleasant climate with temperate summers and mild winters. The sun shines as many hours a year in Noirmoutier as in Carcassonne. But... the rainfall is as generous as the sun! In the sand enriched with gemon grows the cap, endemic potato and early. Proof of a microclimate, here grow mimosa and arbutus trees.
Here's an island for all four seasons. In winter, the island and its beaches are yours, and the mimosas are in bloom; in spring, it's the pre-season and nature is in full swing; in summer, warmth and seaside pleasures; in autumn, gentleness and peace. So you can stay on the island all year round, even if many establishments close their doors in winter. The peak tourist season is summer, with the greatest influx of tourists and a maximum number of cultural and sporting activities and events. It's also the period when bathing water is warmest.
