You're told Gypsy jazz? On the road with Django Reinhardt… For a long time, Gypsy jazz has been unknown and even despised, despite the Gypsy community in Alsace, especially in Zillisheim, with a great musician like Mito Institut, known and recognized for his virtuosity in guitar and violin. After his death in 2011, one of his friends, Pierre Heyd, decided to organize a music festival in his memory. The festival is a very successful success. During a weekend, Zillisheim lives in the Gypsy hour with very high quality programming. Since then, the festival has taken sides. The Gypsy Jazz Festival attaches great importance to the transmission of music. It is, of course, that he proposes master-class with professionals who are committed to communicating their knowledge. On the village of the festival you can also discover instruments made by a virtuoso. Let's hope that this festival will still have some very beautiful years!
