Taman Nasional Bukit Baka Bukit Raya is a park with a varied landscape of hills, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, woodlands and tropical forests. It covers an area of over 1,800 km2. It owes its name to the Bukit Baya mountains, which rise to 1,620 meters, and Bukit Raya, the park's highest peak at 2,278 meters. These two mountains are part of the Schwaner Range, which marks the boundary between the provinces of Kalimantan Tengah and Kalimantan Barat. It is home to a wide variety of fauna, including orangutans, clouded panthers, rubicund semnopithecines, lorises and hornbills. It is also home to 817 plant species.
