AL DOSSARIA CASTLE

Al Dossaria Castle is a military structure built in the early 19th century on the highest point of the city. At the top of a small hill at 250 meters above sea level, the castle occupies an area of 900 square meters. Its high, two-story walls and four massive towers allowed for surveillance of both the land and the sea. The small openings in the towers and the wall made it possible to pass the barrel of a rifle. Access to the fort is from the back and the entrance was deliberately small and blind to slow down the enemy.
